Patents
are a vital resource for slot machine research and restoration.
They record in detail some of the most innovative and successful
designs, together with others which never went into production, or which
have not come down to us as surviving examples. This incomplete list includes
British patents filed for non-British machines and some foreign and non-coin-operated
(but related) patents. Application dates are given in preference to acceptance
