Re: The Lucky 12 flickball

You are correct, Arrgee. About 15 years ago, I had a run of 100 of these control/release arms reproduced. I sent some to Jerry at the time.

Re: Early French Allwin

Nick did a nice job tarting up a fairly common allwin. I wonder how much time it took?

Re: More Money than Brains....

I'm hiding in my bunker at least until tomorrow. If the Orange Idiot wins again, I'll be looking for a Brit to sponsor my immigration application. As for astronomical prices for some American coin-op, there is a lot of money sloshing around in the top tier. If two of these macho collectors get into ...

Re: Refurbished Allwin

Very nice work, Martynbr. In my experience, most of the collectible British games ended up on the West Coast in the '60's and '70's. Many had one or more mechanical parts removed rendering them non-payout, probably to evade the gambling laws in the US.

Re: Barrel of Fun

My Ebay hunting days are in my rearview mirror so without the sharp eye of Cait001, I would not be the current conservator of aforementioned game. When things slow down on the farm, I will post more information on the m...

Re: Barrel of Fun

BP. Thank you for your erudite correction. I should not be posting after either 10 PM or two beers. I shall not admit which was the case here. You are correct, it is New Old Stock to which I was referring. I shall now retire to the fridge for my refreshments.

Re: Barrel of Fun

I've thought long and hard as to why British games are so undervalued here in America. The lack of nostalgia or familiarity is one important factor, no doubt. We tend to pine for games of our youth and British coin-op was not a part of the American experience. I think there may be a more subtle fact...

Re: Barrel of Fun

Not to spoil the surprise but I'm the lucky winner. More information to follow after I've taken possession and had a chance to suss out the mechanism together with advice from the incomparable Gameswat.
