Re: Showman's Paint

A lot look like copies of British machines

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=952

Or some might even be quite rare British machines (albeit tweaked a little?)

Quite a collection if you owned them all?

Re: Firmans

Thanks for the interesting info gentlemen. Seems like they created a lot of weird and wonderful bandits out of odd bits from anything they could get hold of. I quite like the Egyptian version on eBay at the moment, it appears that the Firman's bandits don't achieve as high prices as original Poinset...

Re: Ruffler & Walker Allwin List

The Yours To Be Won Ruffler and Walker allwin is a confusing one. I've heard it countless times and the one on ebay at the moment states it also, "ONE OF ONLY TWO MACHINES KNOWN TO EXIST, THE OTHER KNOWN EXAMPLE WAS FORMERLY IN THE COLLECTION OF THE LATE JOHN CARTER AND WAS SOLD IN AUCTION IN 2...

B Firman & Co. products

Does anyone have any info on this company?

Have heard it mentioned quite a few times regarding bandit conversions. Did they convert for the English market?

Thanks.

Veneer

Topic merged - site admin.

Has anyone had any experience of re-doing the veneer of a machine?

Is it easier to repair it or just start over with new?

Thanks

Re: What does this little Doo Hicky do?

I've seen quite a few Bryans Machines with those Doo Hicky's on BP. I was told once that they were meant to weigh down the winning lever so that punters couldn't tip/bash the machine and make the lever fall into the winning position. Effectively an anti-tilt device. Not too sure if that's too true o...

Re: Autopay allwins in Bridlington

They are lovely looking machines !!THUMBSX2!!

Were they originally manual payout, only the holes on the left are for where the payout knob should be?

I've seen others that don't have any holes there at all, like the one below.

Re: Oliver Whales Allwin

The seller says, "A kind ebay member has just advised me that there are only a couple of these machines in existence."

Is this true? It's in lovely condition and makes my mouth water !!YIPPEE!! , but I agree it's way over the top on price.

Bryans 110.0

There's a Bryans Clock on ebay with a strange serial number, 110.0
Why the .0? !PUZZLED!

There's also an interesting story in the description about the conversion and case. Why would they spray it that colour?

Re: Vintage Slots in Films and Newsreels

Aren't the locks on the Bryans machines meant to be at the side on the left? On the ones in that clip they're at the top like I've seen on some early WorlBorl's. Were these just early allwins made by Bryans that didn't have locks at the side that later became the norm? They don't appear to have hing...

This is a strange one !PUZZLED!

What are your thoughts? Do you think it adds value or decreases the value?

I'd personally prefer the whole Fours-Square dirtdog
