Soren Wistoft, Danish company, and I'd bet my boots it started life as a vendor for Aspro or something similar. Nice job though Widget.

Re: Bandit Stand
40 odd years ago the Design Manager where I worked walked past a drawing in progress that showed for scale, a man stood by a large industrial boiler. His only comment to the Design Engineer was "I hope that man is to British Standard, 5 foot 9 and right handed". I have never bothered to fi...

Re: Gallopers - Carousel
I have just checked some old photos of my kids on a carousel in the Shelburne Musuem Vermont and that is definitely going anti clockwise, but more importantly (to me anyway) why in my family are Gallopers referred to as "bobby horses"?

Re: British Treasure American Gold Mills for sale ebay.com
I forced myself to watch this show as I'd seen a trailer that featured a) slots and b) my home town. What a load of crap. Are all the programmes of this genre that bad? So a fella who is supposedly an expert says his 100% complete, original and fully working Space Invaders machine is better than the...

Re: Official Historian?
........... in the very long term I believe that current technology cannot be relied upon to allow indefinite access when compared with the printed word, which has and will continue to last for hundreds of years. This was brought home to me a while ago when I tried to open a 20 year old CAD drawing...

Re: Grand slam
Definitely based on bridge then although I don't believe the term "book" features in the actual game the term "finesse" does. It is not a game I know or have any desire to learn so can't help you any more than that. As coppinpr says, it does look overly complicated for what it is...

I can't make out the words from your photo but it is almost certainly based on the card game "Bridge". Post a close up of the words if you can.

Brenco Heads n' Tails identified
Sorry about picture but it's all I could copy from eBay search page as the listing itself had been removed.
This looks to be a bit different although perhaps way too late for some of you. Any info on how it worked?

Re: Just like buses
I think if the Perfecta had been an original made for the UK market they would have found a more elegant solution than the customary enlargement of the coin slot. These are Germans we're talking about, they would surely have manufactured a specific "1d" coin entry.

Re: What's this?
They show up as "Viscount", "Duchess" and "Princess" and possibly other regal or non-aristocratic names. I think they are re-cased Gunter Wulff Beromat type mechanisms with the numbers replace by fruits but I could be wrong. When the German machines were converted or re...

Re: what did they make?
Also interesting that that simple address was enough to get delivered to the right person half way across the USA Chas Becker Saloon Dayton O I don't know if this is urban myth or not but I was once told an envelope addressed as follows was duly delivered quite promptly to the correct recipient WOO...

Re: what did they make?
my jaunt around the world of google with my morning coffee has (not surprisingly) brought nothing firm :dammit: but.................. this prestamped envelope design is U294 and was first issued in 1887 Casper Becker (possibly no relation at all!) started the Becker Brewing Co in Dayton Ohio in 1891...

Bally Bingo Pinball Simulators
I fell into the world of slots when I retired and started looking for a Bally Bingo pinball and anyone who has experience moving one of these machines will know that had they been around in ancient times then Hercules would have had 13 labours not 12. Anyway thanks to some sterling effort by an enth...

Re: Bell-Fruit Gum Company: Fact or Fiction?
I've approached this from a slightly different angle given that Mills was based in Chicago and this was also the home of Zeno Gum (who were making gum for Wrigley before the latter eventually took them over). In my perfect world I imagined that I would discover a manufacturer whose early fruit flavo...

Thanks BP, all good info. I'd managed to identify the problem with the bar/pin just wasn't sure how to remedy it.
