Re: Help needed for Rondo machine
Yep, not the original transformer that came with the machine. Been replaced at some time.
I am attaching some drawings and notes that I have done for you. As I said before, they won't be 100% correct, but they will help you to make sense of it.

Re: Help needed for Rondo machine
The type of rectifier fitted to your machine is a Selenium Rectifier. By all means test it. You might be lucky and it may still be working OK, but with age they do tend to deteriorate and become unreliable, in which case you could fit a replacement silicon rectifier in its place. The wiring shown in...

Re: Help needed for Rondo machine
Hi Derek, welcome to the mad house. .:*+*:. Is this your first machine? Jamieson's did two versions of this machine. Which one do you have? !PUZZLED! Photos of both the inside and outside of your machine would be very helpful. At the time of production, Jamieson's were still using "surplus"...

Re: Replacement step motor
Looks to be missing the contact arm? This would be connected to the motor shaft. Without it nothing will happen.

Re: have we seen this allwin before?
Hi Paul,
Yes it is a Parkers allwin, in the plain oak case. The only photo I have is in black and white and taken at an angle, so not a lot of use to you.?? The price new in 1958 was £26.10.00. How many do you want?

Re: Chicago Coin Steam Shovel
Thank you for the photos. The good news is, the only thing wrong with your bucket is the missing rivet. Everything else looks fine. When you replace the missing rivet the two parts must be able to move freely. To make the bucket work correctly, you need to find an "Eclipse" button magnet o...

Hi, and welcome to the forum. It has been some years since I did the Steam Shovel and I no longer have the machine, so I will be working mostly from memory !PUZZLED! which gets worse the longer I have it. It would help if you could post some photos of the bucket, showing the damage, and from t...

Re: Replacement step motor
Good to hear you have it sorted. May have been some solid grease in the gearbox. Can happen when machines have been left in storage for a long time.

Re: Replacement step motor
OK, this tells me the motor is working. The problem is likely to be with the gearbox. Your motor is an older version and the gearbox is riveted to the motor. The newer ones are clipped on. The problem is likely to be the fibre gear wheel inside the gearbox. As you have nothing to lose, you might as ...

Re: Philip Shefras Plentywin
As for the old pennies, can any of you sell them to me or can I find them on Ebay? Old British pennies can wear a little thin over time. This can cause problems with the payout on some machines. Always better to use "new" uncirculated coins if possible, as these are guaranteed to be of un...

Re: Replacement step motor
You might have tried this already, but I have to ask you anyway.
Have you tried the 2 blue motor wires connected direct to a 240 volt supply, or have you only tested it when wired into the machine?

Re: Replacement step motor
Just for your information, this is a synchronous motor, not a stepper motor. What is the problem with it? Is it the motor or is it the gearbox that is faulty? You can get a new one from RS. for £120.90 +vat. !!SHIT!! https://export.rsdelivers.com/product/crouzet/82334728/crouzet-anti-clockwise-synch...

Re: Gold Mine - very long shot
I am a little late to the party on this one, but as I was researching something else !!JUNK!! I came across a reference to this machine. It was actually made in 1977, a lot later than thought  and had a very short life as a product. It was trying to compete with the birth of the video game mac...
