Re: Sega Clover Bell & Blackjack
I think they vend gum, rather than pay out coins which happens on a Mini Sega etc.
The last coin played can be viewed in a window at the side of the case before it drops into the cashbox.

Re: Reel Mech Query
Treefrog is correct. My Mills Hi Top pays 10 coins for 777 anywhere in the window. This is triggered from a payout finger rather than the Gold Award Trip mounted on the Anti Reverse Lever.

Re: Shefras Escalator problems
I think your escalator is actually a late Sega version rather than a Shefras. I had one of these in a Sega Light Up.
Here is a thread below which hopefully will be of use to confirm the model of escalator.

Looks superb and it has a very nice glow effect, nice and warm bulbs and well before the time LED's were in production I guess.

Re: Sega lighting question
Here's a photo I have to hand. I think it mounts from the reel surround casting rather than the escalator but will check again when I can access the machine.

Re: History of Joe Fletcher's Birmingham amusement arcade
One of my favourite arcades in the 1980s and '90s and visited Lickey Hills most weekends during the summer months.
I can remember the last one arm bandits in the venue were electronic by that time - a couple of Universal OXOs.

Re: Sega Mad Money Restoration
Hi, I have had a few Shefras escalators and they do have multiple slots. I think these escalators can be configured in different ways, but usually the last coin played is visible pushing the previous one down the channel. I have found the multiple slots also help with clearing bent or stuck coins fr...

Re: Electroplating (chrome, nickel etc.)
I have had a few pieces chrome powder coated and the results can be very good but the surface of the casting / metal needs to be very smooth before powder coating to achieve the best effect from the finish. If there is any pitting or a rough surface is left from blasting then it just looks like the ...

Re: What else do you collect?
I know we all collect old slot machines, allwins, etc. I'm sure most of us all collect something else too. Thought it would be interesting to find out what other members collect. For me... it's Neo Geo Aes game cartridges specifically. Neo Geo Aes - I have had a few Aes consoles and lots of carts o...

Here is a photo of the mech side on showing the solenoid and micro switch. Hopefully this part of Lucky Horseshoe is complete.

Re: Mills or Sega Lucky Horseshoe???
Thanks for the information. I think this Lucky Horseshoe mechanism must have been disabled previously as there are no male connectors to link the power / lighting loom and the mech loom. I would have expected some kind of step down transformer to supply the solenoid on the vertical finger of the mec...

Re: Mills or Sega Lucky Horseshoe???
Topic merged - Site Admin. Please does anyone have a photo of the control box that is mounted to the back of the hood and how this connects to the 2 x female connector blocks inside the case and mech. I have recently purchased a machine which has the wiring looms, solenoids etc attached to the mech...

Re: Lord Sega on 3d coinage
Yes its similar, Here's a comparison side by side with a Sega Light Up Token Unit. The Lord Sega LS-7002 version is shorter and will hold 3 tokens. It seems to work with either with the 50p style Sega Tokens or the Samson style round Gold Award Tokens. Not sure what an original Grand Prize Token wou...

Re: Lord Sega on 3d coinage
A quick update on the progress. The slides have been taken out checked for thickness which was fine for the 3d coinage and they have now been cleaned as they were quite greased up. Infact there are only 2 slides paying 3d coins as the 3rd payout is the side mounted Special Prize Token trip. All 3 of...

Re: Lord Sega on 3d coinage
Thanks brigham and treefrog for your replies. I have spent a little more time investigating the mech and have taken a few more photo's which may be of interest. The good news is below the S10 acceptor 3d coins will fit in the coin detector and coin played window pushing them into the tube. The tube ...

Lord Sega on 3d coinage
Just got round to starting my Lord Sega project which has been waiting for a while. I noticed the artwork on the award card has been patched and the machine converted to 1p play at some point. After removing the card there was an extra layer of perspex at the front with the 1p awards and price of pl...

Re: Sega Clover Bell & Blackjack
Good news! The mech is working correctly now with the reels firing and spinning as they should. Would this trade stimulator have used tokens or coins originally? There's no indication other than the "COINS" text stamped on the front plate. The slot and chute is large enough for 1d but they...
