Re: Sega Clover Bell & Blackjack

I just scored a Sega Clover Bell today, just in time before leaving for a holiday. I never have seen one, except on the internet. Does someone know if these machines have no reel brakes so the reels keep rolling till they stop? When you push the gum button each time it will give a gumball. Do I mis...

Re: Mills hi top

Wow lovely Hi Top polaris and I think gold award payout is quite a desireable fetaure on this machine. I have a Special Award fitted to a later Sega machine and the payout is tripped by 3 overprinted stars on the reel strips. There is a long lever mounted to the anti-reverse lever that runs through ...

One Arm Bandits that use Florins

A question to the Forum please.
Are there many one arm bandits that run on Florins? I think I have seen later Aristocrat models but wondered if the mechanical Segas, Mills, Jennings, Jubilees etc were ever converted to use this coinage?

Re: New Sega Copper resto help with payout

Looking good Paul,
Are you planning to re-paint the castings in a similar colour or do you have something different in mind?

Re: New Sega Copper resto Help with payout

Glad to hear it's paying out now.
There is a post that I have found really useful on the topic of large coin escalators which hopefully will be of help.

Re: Sega Progressive Star electrics

Hi brianh, the electric on my Sega Progressive Star is used for the lighting only. There are usually flow tubes fitted to the top box, reels / award card and sometimes to the belly to illuminate the jackpot window. If you find your existing lighting rig is not functional or unsafe there's a topic fo...

Re: Sega Silver Victory

Thanks tallstory I have seen some chrome effect powders and they work really nicely if the metal has not been too badly pitted. I will order some to use and fingers crossed the door and rusty parts come out reasonably smooth after the blasting. Otherwise it might have to be a ripple finish to hide t...

Re: Sega Silver Victory?

Well its been a few months and I've finally got round to stripping down the Windsor project. It really was pretty rusty & corroded around the case, front door and top box and I couldn't get the back off the top box to separate it but remembered Badpenny's suggestion of applying diesel, brushed i...

Re: Sega Progressive Star coin jam

There is a really useful thread about the Sega Progressive Stars with pictures of the meters. * Now merged above - Site Admin. I believe they did have meters originally and these were mostly removed or covered over when the legislation changed preventing the hand payout of prizes by attendants. Does...

Re: Sega Progressive Star coin jam

Hi brianh, That's a nice machine you have there. Does your machine still have the progressive meter unit at the top of the machine in the front casting above the escalator? This is would be located behind the blanking plate with the 6d sign. I have been working on my machine for a while and discover...

The longest timescale for a project

I found an old mash potato tin in the garage which contained lots of screws and parts from an Aristocrat Arcadian machine I purchased around 1990. As teenager at the time I was full of enthusiam and undaunted by the shabby brush painted case and the front perspex smashed and held together with elect...

Re: Sega Silver Victory?

Well, I had an interesting puzzle trying to remove the mech. Opening the spring loaded catches at the front of the base plate I was expecting the mech to slide out freely but it was still held solid on one side. In the end I resorted to unscrewing the latch plates from the base of the mech and hey p...
