Re: Buckley kicker question

Sacrificial plate, which is designed to take the wear and be replaced by an operator rather than the whole kicker. Often they were tacked/riveted on. If the kicker is engaging correctly many other reasons can cause the reels to spin poorly. First question, if you block the clock to allow free moveme...

Re: Trouble with Aristocrat reels not releasing

Some machines have an adjustment bolt on the arm to deal with this issue like below. IMG_20240209_113011724a.jpg Yours does not and earlier mechanisms often didn’t. Before shaving metal off parts, the arm may have been bent slightly as whenever there is a jam somewhere else the part often under pres...

Re: Trouble with Aristocrat reels not releasing

Are the clamps tightened right up the correct way now and the main arm they hold seated correctly?

Brakes make no difference.

Can you do a short video from behind of the problem.

Re: Can anyone ID this machine?

Think you might be right about scratch built, whether a Barson version I don’t know, Pete has done some great inventive creations, just search the site. Lots of Philips screws and rough holes in the wood, pop rivets etc….case I thought may have had age, but who knows….

I have seen this on some other machines and reckon it is a hand load for jackpot, although this machine may have a blanked jackpot.

Coppinpr indicated that he has his own opinion as to why posting occasionally drops off in the Forum. Let's hear some constructive idears so something can be done to rectify the problem. ROGER I doubt it will change… There are a very small hardcore group that regularly post and respond to posts. A ...

Re: B Firman & Co. products

I have never liked the Egyptian front Firmans machines, mainly due to most I have seen have been blinged up with horrible plating, especial the gold plate and ghastly colours….finally one has turned up in its original state, which shows most of these machines are collectors improvements……I didn’t bu...

It doesn’t feel like 9 years since I posted this machine, just found another in original state at the beginning of the video from Folly Farm in Wales…….. Folly Farm never been discussed on here, but host a large vintage funfair and a few arcade machines, mostly Nostalgia, but a few nice machines.. h...

Re: The EXAMINER

Yes odd one as it looks like another Bradshaw modified machine with screws holding a plate over original name and an added pointer that probably does nothing but complies with the instructions….but it says patent pending. Also it is listed in Braithwaite book under Walton 1933…… Seems odd as obvious...

My initial reaction was Bmco, but did they do this type of coin flicker….but Bollands did and the coin returns and flicker are of their style and coin entry position…. !PUZZLED! https://pennymachines.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=8878 As mentioned, why two coin returns? Thanks Peter for hosting a fabulous day at your arcade, it looks great and the food and drinks were a bonus, although I have started a diet so had to avoid the wonderful cake……

Here is a taster of the site not the cake

By the way, what I was referring to the height, once it has reached the top of the V, as people have been calling it, going any higher does not help… My question, which was clear, was does it get to this spot as per my picture? !PUZZLED!

Re: Help needed on pinstripes and flowers on Mills War Eagle cabinet

This thread if you did not see might be useful……

My only view on modern versions is they need to be toned down or aged somehow as that bright colour I have seen just looks wrong on a 80 year old machine. !OMFG!

What is actually the issue? Is it that the upper fingers are not going back far enough and locking the reels? !PUZZLED! The dog will not change this, other than ensure that the arm that retracts the fingers lifts on top of the lever highlighted in green below… How ever much you change the dog, it wi...

Re: Harpoon or Shaft ???

Nowadays we never see whales or sharks as they are all sitting on their sofas in their pyjamas and slippers sipping a hot chocolate while tapping away on their iPhones … Of course that is me included. :HaHa: Bit of a shame as it was always fun scowling at a competitor in the room. I used to hide at ...
