Re: Novelty Merchantman lattice crane boom part wanted
Maybe with a valuable item such as this crane one might think of getting parts re cast. There are companies that do it. And it helps retain originality and value.

Re: Peter Simper machines
I seen a couple on ebay. I had one a few years ago, very nice as well. Mine had a road theme with some traffic signs on the reels. To be honest, the cabinet looked more like a jukebox. I do believe that Simper did one off artwork on machines to suit where they were sited. I'm guessing mine may have ...

Re: Jamiesons Skill poker machine
First job is to remove the pcbs and replace all components, especially capacitors and resisters. You won't get exact parts but you will get equivalents. In the case of caps, always go higher, especially on voltage. It will work the same but last longer. Check for dry solder joints, clean all pcb con...

Re: Bingolett
The lamps in these are called festoon bulbs. You can't use LED lamps as the the filament lamps already fitted are AC. The LEDs are DC. It will not work unless you alter the lamp output to DC. It will also need to be regulated and not just through a bridge rec., otherwise your LED lamps won't last 5 ...

Re: electric amuser info needed
Not too hot on these but I think it is supposed to give you an electric shock. Back in the day it was said to be stimulating and good for you, but electric shocks in my view are not good. So the two knobs should be connected so when you deposit a coin it gives you a shock. Just buy old German machin...

Auctions and costs
Now i have mentioned this before but not really had a real answer. If ibuy something on ebay (auction) and i get it for 200 i pay 200.But machine auctions charge both seller and buyer.so if bought a machine on ebay for 200 i dont expect to pay 250 when i collect it.This is mainly why i avoid auctions...

I've split and moved this post because it seemed irrelevant to slot machines and the two-year old stolen machines thread - Site Admin. sod the law,if culprit is found or known give them a good kicking and break both arms, that will stop em for a while.Im afraid sometimes the law is just not enough f...

Re: 1960s Wolff Jupiter
The paint on that looks like one I restored years ago with brass and gold leaf finish, then laquered. If it is that one it would be clean as I stripped the lot, maybe 17 years ago. I sold it to Paul in Essex and he had it years. He did say he was moving it on, I think it is that one.

If anyone needs pics of a Duomat, mine is mint, original glass and not scratched out for English instructions, bright colours and still on original coinage. I've had it about 15 years. Oh yes, Pennymachines, I still have the Bingolette I got from you in 1999, also mint and never let me down, even wh...

Formica is not easy to come by. I got mine from a place Northampton way 6 years ago when I did my water wheel. Massive range and good prices. I still have brochures, if you want details I can email them.

Re: jackpot allwin edges
Hi Keith, I would get some of that wooden edging that's patterned with a router. I'm guessing it's about 18mm, or just use T moulding, maybe in chrome. You can get the cutters for the slot on ebay, or get the wooden edging of your choice and spray with chrome paint (odds and ends) or the like which ...

Worth what you can get really. At a guess about 40 quid. If it needs work even less. And that is if you can advertise without it being taken off. You need a licence now.
