Re: Wonders Feast
Were those both on ebay, Reb? I don't recall seeing them but would certainly have had a punt at £530!

Re: Wonders Feast
Maybe Dave just uses the Elephant House name as his ebay ID. I'm not sure you can change your name on there without a lot of fuss and bother! Oh...and the Double Six is now up to £850!! I've got one of those in the shed awaiting paint removal... I shall have to get my skates on!

Re: Wonders Feast
I "Wondered" when somebody would mention these! The Win And Place is most definitely a Wonders but may be badged up as a Ruffler & Walker as they distributed many makes of machine. The other two aren't as commonplace so should fetch a pretty penny! Saying that, they're being beaten by ...

Re: See Saw allwin
Yes, I've had a look through the holes in the mechanism and it definitely looks hand painted in reverse. Must have been a real labour of love doing that!

Re: See Saw allwin
Evening, Chaps! Glad you like it as I did too when I first saw it almost a year ago. I'm not looking to sell at the moment as I'd like to clean it up a bit first. There is a bit of dead worm hole in the ply mech board but it was treated years ago and hasn't degraded the ply. I've had a quick play an...

See Saw allwin
Hi all... just acquired a batch of allwins from a collector that has owned them for at least 30 years. I recognise them all bar this one and wondered if anybody has seen one before? Instead of the usual winning cups it has holes in the playfield into which you steer the ball using three little see s...

Shame about that Trickler, Jingle! Mind you, a jackpot allwin sold at Kempton yesterday for £550 so I hoped you snapped it up?? Wasn't you selling it on was it??

Re: Bradley Challenger - High Price!
I seem to remember one going quite cheaply at Salisbury a few years back and I wished I'd bid on it. They are indeed a handsome machine and I see that somebody has listed a Bradley Crusader hopefully trying to emulate the Challengers success! Strange that these two machine share their names with Bri...

Re: Nostalgic parts
Nostalgic Machines are modelled on Oliver Whales machines. The company is run by Nigel Crew who I have always found to be a very friendly and helpful chap. He usually has some old machines too so possibly could help with original parts.
Good luck with your restorations!

Re: Bell Fruit Cascade De Luxe
I just pieced my Cascade together too and surprise surprise, found that my bonus trip was round the wrong way too! Some ingenious past owner had nailed all the trips with holes into place but obviously got that one wrong. I'd forgotten what a nightmare these machines are. You can't clear a jam or ma...

Re: Bell Fruit Cascade De Luxe
Hi Treefrog. All coins that roll into the bonus column should be retained there by a vertical trip that is a different shape to the others. If the coins are running through your bonus column it sounds like your trip is either absent or the top piece is the wrong way round. When this column is full, ...

Re: A little piece of Wondermatics history...
Sinclair has kindly shared another memory, this time of the Wonders "Patsy Fair" allwin: "A lot of the machines were based on certain people or occasions. Dad did all the art work himself. For example, Patsy Fair was a flick machine and was made for Patsy North who owned a fun fair at...

A little piece of Wondermatics history...
Been having a bit of correspondence just recently with the son of "Jack" Glover, the founder of the Wondermatics phenomenom. He's given me permission to post this piece relating his memories of his dads business. It's invaluable stuff that would be lost if it wasn't for people like Sinclai...

Newly restored Oliver Whales
Just finished cleaning up this Oliver Whales Playball that has been loitering in the shed for a couple of years now. I'm quite pleased how well it turned out! Check out the picture of the girls face...I'm sure she was smiling before I started??

Re: At last I've bought one!
Jem, you shouldn't need to totally strip down the mechanism to get at the lock. Just undo the screw that connects pivoted movement at rear of payout knob and then possibly remove payout chute and coin entry slide to make disassembly easier. Unhook spring that tensions ball hammer and remove the thre...
