Re: Sega payout issue!
It's a square of rubber that dampens the end travel of the arm. Mine have turned to mush! If you're on about this rubber, they can be a bit tricky to get out. I've found the best way is to remove the bracket then drill 2 holes from the rear adjacent to the 2 lugs that fold over the rubber. Then you...

Re: Sega payout issue!
This is the pivot I'm on about. It's at the back of the machine, next to where the slide springs attach. The lever you can see holds the safety slide in place. Undo the screw and fit a washer that's smaller than the diameter of the shoulder and when you tighten it down, it should clamp the lever in ...

Re: Sega payout issue!
The extra coin will be because of the removed safety slide. The coin will be filling the space where it would have been. Try putting it back, then lock the arm that holds it in the open position. You can do this by removing the shoulder screw at the pivot point, then put a washer on that will clamp ...

Could try Novus 2 plastic cleaner. You'll find it at most pinball suppliers.

Are you still touring the arcade? Was hoping to see you at Elvaston Steam Fair, a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Each Way Oliver Whales slot restore
The arm that hits the ball should have a rubber stop inside the chrome housing. They are usually hard as wood, after all these years, but I usually replace with some suitable rubber. Whales machines were made in Redcar in Yorkshire. Yours was probably made in the mid '50s. You can get pennies from U...

Ace. Had loads of '50's/'60's electromechanicals, but never a pre-flipper machine. Some of them have really nice designs.

That was quite a faff trying to get the springs back on with the machine built up but hey ho, live and learn. A set of picks is invaluable for putting springs back on. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354806222465?epid=2256107848&hash=item529c194e81:g:-vAAAOSwHxJkbkUq&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Jxqc%2...

Great work.
Although using WD40 isn't the best idea, a light coating of 3in1, or sewing machine oil will work much better.

Re: Tim Hunkin Peace
Excellent. When I was landlord of The One Tun in Goodge St W1 we had a very heavily used jukebox. I can't remember how I found it, but obtained a 45 single (CDs had only just come out) which had no recording on it. So for 20np you could buy yourself 3 minutes of silence. It was very popular. BP :co...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian 65 restoration
The 'coin reject arm' you've taken off is actually the arm that pushes coins into the overflow chute and into the cash box, when the payout tube is full.
Looks like a good project. Those Aristocrat mechs are relatively simple and built like a tank.
