Re: Vending Machine Build

You can make many mechs by manual use or motorised, as I did when I was 7 years old from Lego. Endless ways to vend sweets. It just needs thinking about. You would not believe what I used in the past. Not always perfect, but they did work.

Re: Help on wiper motors.

Hi, For a start you need brushless motors, and AC for continuous use. A wiper motor needs a lot of amps and on 12 volt you will need a huge transformer. Shaded pole is best - they are silent and draw little current, as used by most companies in the sixties and seventies. You can get continuous rated ...

Re: Bergman Imperator - Fair Price

These old mains powered German machines often use a live chassis or are grounded through caps. Even if you replace all these, like I did, if you have the modern trips it will keep tripping your consumer unit. These are not compatible with modern stuff. If you have the old fuses or a six inch nail ja...

Re: Coach bolts

This is the place to get them. I bought some stainless steel carriage bolts from him a few weeks ago. Look up seller: boltbase on eBay. He has a massive listing at very good prices. His address on bolts he sent me: Iain Sim, Bolt Base Ltd. Unit 24 The Trade Centre Bruce St. Alloa Clackmannanshire F...

Re: Coach bolts

Some great replies, thanks guys. I do like the black ones BP and maybe I can polish the black off. I'm sure they will be steel with either spray paint or dipped in hot oil.

Re: Coach bolts

Hi,
They are standard, like on old fruit machines etc. I would guess about m4 x 30mm long. They may well be imperial, but most old metal plate coin mechs of the sixties and seventies used these.

Coach bolts

Hi everyone.
I've been searching for some coach bolts for a coin mech mounting. As yet I can't find any. Where can I get some from?

Re: Bally Super Golden Girl

Spot on BP. Also solenoids can stick on due to dirt or a worn plunger and can even become magnetized. Strip and clean the solenoid, check the coin-op microswitch with a multimeter to make sure it's functional and also check the credit relay has not stuck on.

Which auctions?

So, if I go to one auction this year which one should it be? And be honest and not put me off so you have one less bidder. !!THUMBSX2!!

Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 22nd March 2015

Well, I'm selling most of my machines off in the garage and will be after something special to replace them. I will hopefully get permission to use the works van which is a long wheel base high top Citroen. If I don't see anything I like, at least I can have a cuppa and a browse.

Re: My auction chances in tatters again

It looks more Bently based to me. Rovers in my view were not that good. I do know it's got a Merc engine and gearbox. I would say parts are expensive, but most car bits are.

Re: My auction chances in tatters again

Not a Hemi, I'm towing so it's diesel, otherwise I would need a mortgage to get to Skeggy. Mine is 3.0 turbo diesel. I prefer the 57 one, but not in our weather.

Re: My auction chances in tatters again

It's a Chrysler 300c. Got it in March last year. I have had to completely rebuild all the brakes as they were seized and worn to metal. How it passed an MOT I will never know. We have only done 4000 miles in it. That's garage servicing for you. So a quick run down, new discs and pads all round, both...

My auction chances in tatters again

I was hoping to get to an auction this year, but seems I've been foiled again. The new car is being an expensive pain in the butt and to top that our rather horrible looking front yard is having a serious and expensive overhaul. I might win the lotto though. Plus I've had to sell 5 machines to get t...

Re: So who found something special in 2014?

I think something special varies a lot between collectors. What might be special to me may mean nothing to you and vice versa. So in my view this thread is very limited, e.g. I hate '60s pinballs, but my mate loves them; I love pins with DMD display and he hates them - you get what I mean. :(

As you say, may not take a coin but it's certainly different. Great restoration job. Very nice item for display. Very well done. !!CHEERS!!
