Re: Newbie ..Sega Manuals?

Some of the manuals will keep you busy as they are in sections, others are just one big chunk. Dont forget to take your USB stick to work to copy them on to. I think the biggest one covering Ballys from the all mechanical to the electro mechanical is 50mb. Im going to try and download the whole lot ...

Re: Newbie ..Sega Manuals?

Thanks Bedpenny. Ive been downloading and binding the manuals even for machines i havent got, just in case i do get them. They are interesting reads anyhow especially some of the trade catalogues. The dark art of the Bally electro mechanical machines are well explained in the manuals. Ive seen many ...

Re: How do you get the reels to kick / spin faster? Please!

Well, maybe its the terminology of speed at issue. Maybe they are talking about how fast/slow the reels stop, or the amount of time the reels spin?? I took reference from the Mills Bell Machine Parts and Service Manual on the section. From what you guys state, then I guess the Mills definition of re...

Re: How do you get the reels to kick / spin faster? Please!

Being a relative newb, I had this problem and found the hints given here were good, e.g. cleaning where the reel break wires sit on the spindle (congealed grease it was too). Gathering info from a Mills service manual i found the following solution worked well for me (being mindful that wrong timing...

Re: Jubilee Riviera on old 5p Conversion Question

The machine is for me, I'm not interested in punting bandits on. My vast collection of action figures are for that purpose. I kind of like the Riviera, as I've said before, it's about the machines I played in my era of being a child, happy memories of piers, candyfloss and clattering of coins and ge...

Jubilee Riviera on old 5p Conversion Question

Topic merged - Site Admin. Can anybody tell me whether a Jubilee Riviera on old shilling/5p will easily accept a new 10p coin? My current Jubilee mk1 takes new 5p pieces by placing some tape over the coin reject slot. The new 10p has a slightly larger diameter than the old 5p. Will I have problems?...

Re: Sega dismantling

Well, my handle ball unscrews. It's a Berkeley British Sega copy. It was pretty tight, but it is definitely a threaded fit. To get it off I actually tightened it up further. There was a slight budge by fractions tightening up then it undid easily going the other way. It's anti clockwise to remove, c...

Re: BELL FRUIT BANDIT - GOOD, BAD..or indifferent?

Ah, can rely on you Mr Badpenny to reply... at least to break my solitary status of nobody posting. The ones on ebay are electric payouts and not in working order. I think I'm gonna stay clear as I favour my health and sanity... electricity stings.

Re: What is your dream machine?

I would love a single player coin pusher. I found the pushers by Cromptons the most amusing of machines when I was a lad, Crompton Cakewalk and then the later machine called Get Rich where the coins would stack in columns on their sides. If you got a coin to lie flat you would push out about 10 coin...

Re: 285 members ..... Hello! where are you?

I'm here as ever and just made two posts in Questions and Answers. Hi everybody and start posting stuff, don't be bashful. I wouldn't have bought a second bandit if it wasn't for the advice of the gurus on here who got my confidence up with my first bandit, learned a lot, and found the second one a ...

BELL FRUIT BANDIT - GOOD, BAD..or indifferent?

Topic merged - Site Admin. So, there are two of these on ebay, one quite close to me. Item 130252987405 They are electro mechanical by the looks of it, as both on auction are telling the same tale, one not working at all. One not working on the 5 shilling token tube. 1) Right, firstly, are these ea...

Sega Jackpot Mechanism

Dear fellow coin-op addicts, has anybody got a Sega bandit with a jackpot? I was wondering if anybody could get me a photo of the mechanism, how it is attached to the main internals and how the jackpot payout slide is attached? Secondly, if anybody is breaking an old Sega or has a jackpot mechanism ...

Posting ID's

Dear pennymachines, is there any reason why when in a post, there is no URL ID showing in the address box on your browser. Reason being, it would be useful to be able to cut and paste a topic URL within a posts to send to interested people, as well as adding this to your favourites as a separate lin...

Re: Ascot slot

A Swedish crown too - according to Wikipedia this is about 1/2 mill bigger than the UK new ten pence piece so likely to work a treat over here in the UK. I like your machine a lot, it's quirky and although I'm fairly new to this game I can see various elements of it from so many other makes. How eas...

Re: Ascot slot

What a dreadful looking machine, I'll give you a £100 for it ;) Well, it has an extremely clean looking mechanism. I like the green frame  . What coinage are you running it on? What's the purpose of the transformers? Lighting? Has one had a bit of a burnout, it looks blackened in the photo, mo...

Re: museums & collections

Welcome, thats a nice machine and a good descriptive of your time as a youngster. Sounded like mine, a mispent youth allured by the lights, clunks and whirls and pennies flying out. My allowance was 2 shillings a week, or 10 new pence. I used to start off at the arcade on the coin pushers, wait for ...
