Re: What is it?

Would have done so, widget, and maybe I should've gone to specsavers but I still can't find it in resources !PUZZLED!

That apart, though, it was good experience and at least it used a pic of the actual backflash from the original machine so sort of not cheating?

Re: What is it?

Ref playfield or backflash, if all else fails would you consider replacing it? So long as you take a decent hi-res photo of it you can then clean it up a bit with photoshop (or, as I don't have that prog I used the "paint" prog on my PC) then get it printed to right size - I tend to get th...

Re: Pilwin Restoration

( treefrog) I have never taken an image to the printers before, how do they match the size, do you just state the dimensions and they do the rest When I did this with a kit kat backflash (touched up all the missing or damaged bits just using the "paint" prog as I don't have photo shop) I j...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

I went one step further, as my curiosity got the better of me, and I was tempted to have a go so put a bid in at the last minute, but got outbid with the usual 10 secs to go and too late to up it. Not sure if I'm sad not to get it or relieved I didn't. !!GRUMP!! Would be interested to hear if anyone...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

Hi widget - you may want a laugh at an extract from the transcript of my online chat with eBay then :dammit: 01:27:45 UTC Vineet :didact: Firstly, I would like to inform you that gaming machine listings are permitted only from licensed sellers (who mention their licence number in the listing) or if ...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

You only need a permit (at a cost of £25 I believe), not a licence, to sell a machine and the permit lasts for one year but only for that particular machine. Quote the number on your ebay listing and it shouldn't be thrown off. OK I understand that, 13rebel, and thanks for clarifying but seems it w...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

If all the bits are there and it kept to a reasonable price, it would be a fun project with a new backflash of which there may be one in resources. I had a quick look and found a Ruffler Walker one, but I am still unable to work out how to search on the forum for words below 4 characters Thanks aga...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

Think you're right (sorry Treefrog, brain wasn't in gear) - which begs the question - how come eBay are still allowing slots to be listed like that one? I listed a similar item (Easy Perm Allwin) 4 days ago - working on old pennies, so no prizes as such - and bidding up to around £500 then eBay remo...

Re: Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

Many thanks Treefrog. Good idea about laying the bits out! He's only a short hop down the M5 from me so may see if I can have a look first. Sorry to be a pain and maybe I should've gone to specsavers but can you point me to the eBay item you mentioned at £200 if its a current listing as I can't see ...

Win A Rowntrees Gum Allwin

I'm toying with bidding on this one on eBay (yes, I probably am mad!) to give me something to do :!: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALLWIN-WIN-A-ROWNTREES-GUM-1d-PLAY-RESTORATION-PROJECT-IN-SOMERSET/391957802128?hash=item5b42816c90:g:Bk4AAOSwuQxaU2ly fruitgum.jpg but wondering if the cabinet and what's ...

Personally I prefer to give healthy option advent calendars. First day a chunk of carrot, then a bit of celery, etc., and on the last day they get the baby cheeses.

Re: Caille / Clement & Whales Countertop disc machines

Thanks for all your help and advice again guys. !THUMBS! I'm not too worried about the case as I'm happyish to work on that and replace as necessary (brilliant recycled wood store nearby) . Am more concerned about the mechanics so I guess, pennymachines, your advice is sound - go to the auction and ...

Saw this on the EH site. Not one I've seen before but looks intriguing. Does anyone have any experience of these and does it look fixable at first sight?

Re: What bandit to restore?

Yeah, right you're going to buy a machine, open it up, then not touch it till the manual arrives... I can see that happening. Who said I wasn't going to touch it! 'fraid I tend to use manuals to find out where I went wrong, bit like getting a map out after I get lost which is why it took me 3...

Re: What bandit to restore?

Thanks again for your advice (and your offer of help coppinpr) - seems a bit like spending all your dosh on a good wallet then having no money left to put in it! :#: But looking at my "vintage slot machines buyers price guide" which has some very basic info on how they work, it seems a man...
