Giving machines a miss
Due to laws stopping you selling machines and general brain dead idiots wanting things for nothing ive decided to give it up.Ive more important things to do like look after my caravan, work, maintaining the house and car etc plus i need my garage free for my use.So for now im done. And maybe for good a...

A different kind of coin pusher
I'm always trying to think of something different, and I've come up with a rotary pusher. Never seen one. I got a really nice bearing unit from a display cabinet at work, so basically it will be a half circle that moves round each way, Coins that fall inside the playfield go in the coin box and coin...

Re: Vintage Bell Fruit Machine - Anything worthwhile ?
Anything is worth what someone will pay. The bell fruit machine in question as it is about 150 to 200. You can make it worth more but will cost you the extra and more to restore.

Re: Advice on old coin operated horse needed please
Not working and neglected is not worth much. There are lots of kiddie rides on ebay that don't sell or go cheap. This needs so much work there is no scope for profit, so you need someone who just loves it. Won't be that many. I would start at 50 quid, just to get rid. I'm afraid most people search f...

Re: Southport Pier crap machines
Why did Clive give it up? Was it just not making money or was the council too greedy as usual and forcing out small operators

Re: Southport Pier crap machines
If I had a place like Southport Pier I would fill it with my machines. Mine work and are in good condition. And give the public fun for value. This arcade if you can call it that is letting the side down.

John was a lovely guy, genuine and helpful. I saw him regular, he bought one of my home-made pushers. I was gutted to hear he had passed on. Shame about his prat of a son. Don't like him at all.

Southport Pier crap machines
I went on holiday recently to Southport. Saw some old machines on the pier and they were bad. Who puts machines out that don't even have reel strips on? I played on three and none worked. One did not play at all; one took my money but did not work and the one that did work did not pay on a win. Poor...

Re: Why our hobby should carry a health warning!!
I had one of these many years ago. Bit boring, as the machine tends to do everything - all you do is feed it with coins..But I have seen these go for £300 recently on ebay - hell knows why. They don't have cabinets in Japan, just the main door, which they can fit and remove it in seconds, so when th...

Re: Vending Machine Build
You can make many mechs by manual use or motorised, as I did when I was 7 years old from Lego. Endless ways to vend sweets. It just needs thinking about. You would not believe what I used in the past. Not always perfect, but they did work.

Re: Help on wiper motors.
Hi, For a start you need brushless motors, and AC for continuous use. A wiper motor needs a lot of amps and on 12 volt you will need a huge transformer. Shaded pole is best - they are silent and draw little current, as used by most companies in the sixties and seventies. You can get continuous rated ...

Re: Bergman Imperator - Fair Price
These old mains powered German machines often use a live chassis or are grounded through caps. Even if you replace all these, like I did, if you have the modern trips it will keep tripping your consumer unit. These are not compatible with modern stuff. If you have the old fuses or a six inch nail ja...

Re: Coach bolts
This is the place to get them. I bought some stainless steel carriage bolts from him a few weeks ago. Look up seller: boltbase on eBay. He has a massive listing at very good prices. His address on bolts he sent me: Iain Sim, Bolt Base Ltd. Unit 24 The Trade Centre Bruce St. Alloa Clackmannanshire F...

Some great replies, thanks guys. I do like the black ones BP and maybe I can polish the black off. I'm sure they will be steel with either spray paint or dipped in hot oil.

Re: Coach bolts
Hi,
They are standard, like on old fruit machines etc. I would guess about m4 x 30mm long. They may well be imperial, but most old metal plate coin mechs of the sixties and seventies used these.

Hi everyone.
I've been searching for some coach bolts for a coin mech mounting. As yet I can't find any. Where can I get some from?

Spot on BP. Also solenoids can stick on due to dirt or a worn plunger and can even become magnetized. Strip and clean the solenoid, check the coin-op microswitch with a multimeter to make sure it's functional and also check the credit relay has not stuck on.

Which auctions?
So, if I go to one auction this year which one should it be? And be honest and not put me off so you have one less bidder.
