Adjusting worn bandit "dog & cog" so cycle completes

For the benefit of newbees: Sometimes when I repair machines it occurs to me that someone new to the hobby might gain from what I'm doing at the time, so with that in mind and the fact that my memory is so bad I'll have to look it up myself in the future, I thought I'd write short articles that migh...

Re: Coventry Auction - Sun 23rd June, 2013

The really annoying thing is that it was those shouting the loudest who were the most conspicuous by their absence. I even recall a number of machines being pledged..........and that's the last we heard. I hope you dont mean me JC, I did pledge machines to a summer auction ..to be held in the south...

Re: Let us know what you bought

I know what you mean ................Veneers!!!
NO these are not veneers. These can be bent into a circle - try doing that with a veneer. More of a stick actually.

Re: Let us know what you bought

Simply very thin strips of solid wood. Amost all common woods are available from lime to teak, thin enough to be very pliable. The width of the strips is not very wide but similar to balsa sizes I believe. I'll upload a template of the different colours when I can get to the box it's in.

Re: Sega Victory

Thinking about what bP said about it shouldn't be working for free as shown in the photo, the only way it would make sense is if the power IS getting to the mech, all the time, as soon as the mech is pushed back in. As it stands in the photo, it's in the correct position because the power has been c...

Re: Sega Victory

One thing not quite clear from the photos and would be the first thing to check is, is the power from the case getting to the mech? There is a a socket inside the case (which we can see from the photo) but it's not all that clear if the plug is located on the mech ready to connect when the mech is p...

Re: Let us know what you bought

Admirals could and did serve on ships; admirals of the flag or rear admirals did not. Phillip did not get to be rear admiral till 1805 :didact:
Cabin boys were called Roger because it was a job description

Re: Let us know what you bought

Go to your local model shop and buy their thinnest lengths of balsa. I use PVA wood glue Just an idea, and one I have not as yet tried but why use balsa. For many years Ive made model ships from scratch from wood strips, almost all types and colours of wood are available and used correctly are more ...

Re: Coventry Auction - Sun 23rd June, 2013

Unless you actually know the high bidder/s there's no way of knowing what the eventual price would be if you had bid I ,of course, know thats the case, and there would have been things i wouldnt get but the attendance was low and thats the key, every single person who wanted to be there and intende...

Re: Coventry Auction - Sun 23rd June, 2013

Maybe in disguise as a Northerner. You live north of the Thames anyway, so as far as I'm concerned you already are a northerner :!?!: Not to worry, there will be a small area roped off for southerners, look for the rebel flag and the "south will rise again" banner -\O/- I'll be staying at...

Re: Jubilee Riviera Jammed

Hi and welcome, I'm sure we can help, photos of the mech out of the machine, from all angles would help. It's most likely one of a few things: A coin or something floating about in the mech; A coin or coins jamming the slides (although this usually only effects payouts); A broken part (not likely bu...
