That's right - you won't get the right splatter with a Pozidriv.
Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
Do you think this machine was an April fool by Mr Bryans, as one of the odder items from his stable? I am staggered operators paid for this machine as a few were made.....real quirky item.

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
It was certainly one of the great cons and jokes of the coin op world, I cant imagine any operator going to all the trouble of keeping the ants alive or even knowing when they were dead,( I can just imagine putting your penny in and getting a view of a few long dead ants with cob webs and dust all round) once the original ploy of pretending it was something else disappeared with the revised description card I cant imagine anyone putting a penny inDo you think this machine was an April fool by Mr Bryans, as one of the odder items from his stable.......I am staggered operators paid for this machines as a few were made.....real quirky item

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
I think you underestimate people's curiosity (or is it gullibility?) A simple box with a slot would take money. Add some sort of scope which remains dark until a coin is inserted and watch the cash roll in! If you feel cheated by what you see, persuade someone else to have a go and laugh at their expense.
Mr Bryan was very imaginative and maybe overreached himself with this one. I've seen very few Ant Viewers which retain the original metal and glass ant enclosure. I think operators usually resorted to pasting a slightly risqué photo inside.

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
Afraid not. From memory it consisted of some sort of flat perforated metal box with glass which slotted into the runners at the focal point of the magnifying lens. I'd be interested to see it too if anyone has one.
Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
would be nice to see, and do you not know what the hole in the front was for pm ?

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
Perhaps Mr J son of Peter, honorary English man of this parish could help?
After all he supplied the little film that Mel used on his website.
Alternatively perhaps he could change the subject completely and advise if he ever had any experience with The Century Series? My particular (off topic) interest is The Lockheed F-104 which totally captivated me as my childhood was lived alongside a USAF Vietnam training base in Scotland (I was there when Pvt. E. Presley stopped over) and the F-104 played a major part in my growing up especially distracting me from women. Although I've done my best to make up for that since, I would still go to any lengths to get involved with a Lockheed Martin Starfighter. There's no way I could say the same for a Bryans Ant Viewer.

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
Try as I may, I cannot put the F-104 and the Bryans Ant Viewer into a composite analogy. For my money, the F-4 Phantom was the dream machine. Big and wicked with those drooping dihedral wings, the Phantom was the aviator's version of the Grim Reaper. One of my best friends had 135 combat missions in Viet Nam in the F-4.
My ant viewer is currently wrapped in storage. I will break it out in the next several days to see if I can answer the current question.

Re: Bryan's ant viewer artwork needed
I suspect the answer to The Bryans F-4 Viewer indeed resides in the U.S. of Americaland with you Big J, which is somewhat mildly amusing seeing as most of us here live within no more than a couple of hours driving of Kegworth.
Indeed many of us live no more than 30 miles from it.
The McDonnel Douglas Phantom may well have been superior Mr Peterson. Yet I never saw one, let alone watched one break up over my Primary school when the 19 year old ex crop sprayer from Scransonville Illinois succeeded in cartwheeling one by treading on the loud pedal and jerking the "Jesus Christ!" stick back too fast. He did survive although the F-104 didn't. In fact we heard later that his parachute had hardly started to deploy before arrangements were being made for his return Stateside to take up duties flying a mop and bucket. The damage plexiglass and pointy bits of aluminium can do to a Victorian school roof had to be seen to be believed.

Hmmmm? .... Let me think, travel all the way to S. Korea to witness an aircraft that is not the one I shared my childhood with?
Actually I think I'd rather corner the market in Ant Viewers.

PS - For the sake of general world safety Coppin could you list the places you've been to in the world just recently so we can start aiming nukes at them? I hear Iceland is getting a bit uppity at the moment.

I guess you won't be aiming it then. Lincoln is East Midlands, although I myself am in East Midlands.
How did you manage to find S. Korea? Or where you looking for Iceland?
