Bussoz, La Girouette
Bussoz, La Girouette
Hello members
I have a wallgame by Bussoz, La Girouette that I am trying to restore to its former glory. See pics. I have seen Supershotbattymambos film of his machine Pin Up Girls that has helped me. I do miss a part or two to my machine. One is the disc with three colours. Is there anyone, please, who can help me with a picture or drawing with measurements of the missing parts on my machine and how it connects with the payout mech in the back?
Best regards,
Watling

Welcome there,
Although I do have one of these it is in storage, so below is a picture from one at the Coventry auction. Hope this helps.
It is a large image and should expand by clicking on it.

Re: Bussoz, La Girouette
Hello again members, thanks for picture and info from treefrog. But I still need a picture from inside the frontpart to see how the 3- colored disc is fixed to the axel ->mechanism and what it looks like. If anyone can help I be grateful.
Best regards, Watling

No problem. Let me know if you need more. Nice to see a Girouette in its original cabinet.

Re: Bussoz, La Girouette
Hi
I have a Pin Up Girl that is exactly the same as the one in the Museum, apart from the young ladies. It is a Bussoz and the mechanism no longer works (damaged in a home move) but easily repairable for someone who knows what they are doing. I am interested in having it repaired and thought someone here might be able to help.
I attach a photo for your interest. I would be grateful to discuss this with someone. Thanks in advance

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum.
You're very lucky to have such a machine, are you incredibly handsome and married to Olivia Newton John (1978 version) as well?
I don't imagine there are too many collectors out there who own one for comparison, however I imagine if it's complete I'd expect most with a mechanical bent (ooh errr missus!) should be able to understand it. Especially if it was working before and you're right in your diagnosis of it being damaged during a house move.
What might help you in your search is if you pinpoint where you are in the world. Although we have many members around the place many of us are well past the age of voting and consider a jaunt to the corner shop to get a quarter of Werthers akin to an expedition.
I for example am in Lincoln (I'm pretty sure)

I've fixed a few of these, as BP says, depends how close you are. I am near Wincanton.

Here's the same Bussoz La Girouette finally restored. There were some missing parts when I bought it that needed to be made and some adjustments to get this beauty back to life!

Re: Bussoz, La Girouette
There was a similar machine at the Nic Costa auction at Christie’s uk in 2006. I bid on it but it sold to a telephone bidder. It sold for £1,100 - £1,200 if I remember. You don’t see many come up for sale.

As Bill says, they don't come up often these days.
Here are some I encountered years ago...

Re: Bussoz, La Girouette
Thanks for all the replies and I do make some progress on my visible
The game are missing the bell and the mechanism for the bell if anyone have better pictures of how it shall look and work, a video of a working bell would also be great so I know how it should work.
And I wonder what the red marked part is for? (see picture)
Thanks for all your help and support
