a load of machines appeared
from Blackpool
that should have been coming up
for auction later that year.
All the machines were pictured on here
and I cannot find them at all
Can anyone point me to them?

well i can now tell you all
i was at an antique fair with a load of
30s pinballs i picked up last year
some guy comes over ask's the price for all 5
we agrees on a price and starts chatting
these are better than the load i have just paid 25 grand for he says
o ye were were they from i said
blackpool he answers some big machines
i know nothing about ,well my ears pricked
does one of them have 4 arms in and they grab prizes
yes thats right there is one of them,
wow i said ,how did you get hold of them
i know all about them and they were ment to be auctioned 5 years or so ago
i said,,o i know amanda the owner of blackpool
and she mentioned them to me last week and
i bought them he says ,,well ok are they for sale i said
they are he says but i am using them for a theme in an furniture exhibition
in paris ,in january ,,he ask's would you mind coming and having a look and telling me
all about them
yes defo i said
so we exchanged numbers
and that was that
6 weeks later i get the call,,
the machines are in a warehouse in bury
can we meet there,,
he lived in london and was getting the train there
i said i will pick you up from the station ,,not missing this one i thought
so picks him up from stockport
and off we go
we turns up at some warehouse
rammed with boxes of furniture
and in the corner were a row of vintage penny arcade machine
egyptians tomb model
the air wardens dream [dennison
and the canova drunkards dream
the hawtins hand grab
a 3 sided conveyor
cycle race and a load of other lower end
stuff
my toes were wiggling in my boots
so i goes over with him what they are and
who made them and this that the other
can i buy them when they get back from france
yep he says ,there definitely coming back after the exhibition
so you will be first
2 weeks later when the exhibition finished i was
on the phone

oh bob he says they were fitting over them in france
i sold them all ,,,,,shit did you sell the all
coz there were 21 in all
o no we could not get them all on the trailor
so we left 4 behind,,which ones were they i said
the 1 with the hands he says ,and the conveyor one ,yeyeyeye am saying
and the what else ,,2 old mutoscope too [that were wrecked anyway ]
the models were gone and i nearly cried
are the hands machine for sale i said and the conveyor
yes come to the warehouse and we can have a deal
i covered 45 miles in about 9 minutes
so i got them ,,the conveyor is mint 3 side too,,the hawtins clutching hand needs restoring
but hay what rare pieces

Bet ur gutted jingle lad that u didn't get any more,..but hey glad u got the Conveyer and grabber,..both look good, i remember the cycling game u missed out at the pleasure beach in fact i remember them all .......can just picture you when u got the phone call about the machines and ur face must have lit up at the thought of getting ur hands on the prized possessions, shame u didn't get any more...but on the plus side at least u got a couple of nice machines for ur hard efforts!! well done lad!! ....maybe part of this thread should also go on the link the ones that got away!! anyway well done on ur 2 new toys!!

i would have been there treefrog

bet the bleedin were
and believe it or not
he sold the 3 models for 3000 euro each
now they were cheap mate
the conveyor trio was probably made up
by the blackpool operator

What a fabulous find. Well done that man! Imagine if Amanda had auctioned the machines. I wonder what that little lot would have fetched!

the ones that nearly got away
had to spend a a bit to capture them
