I recognize that Yoga position; it's the rarer form of "Down Dog" known as "Dog Down."

Ooooo, just check out those other machines too. Haven't seen those before!

Well there's a good image of the left hand side instructions - just need to know what the very tiny print is by the figures and the right hand instructions as well. We'll we're getting there and I really appreciate all the help.

What a great looking mech!

Having just finished a Jennings and before that a Mills Jewel. I decided to have a go at something different. So I pulled out a Duo-Mat I've had for a little while and stripped it right down. I took out the mech and put it to one side. Later I thought what a great looking mech, you could display it just as it is, don't you agree?

A superb piece of engineering I agree ..... don't break the glass on the front of the case, you'll never replace it and might have to end up displaying it like that.

Bought the machine from Glasgow for less than £100, had it couriered to London for £25 and thanks to the seller's packing it arrived all in one piece with a near perfect glass. It's very dirty and I'm really looking forward to working on it. I do need to replace the numbers round the top wheel. Anyone know the correct numbers and their order? I know most but a couple are totally lost.

If no one comes up with it sooner, I'm picking mine up next weekend and moving it so can photo the face for you, instead of the kettle I'll try the food whisk.

Duo-mat, new roulette wheel paper

Post by coppinpr »

I'm working on a Duo-Mat. The mech is in fine condition, as is the glass, but the case and playfield are in a bad way, so I decided to re-make the playfield background on my PC.
Here is the result. If anyone thinks they are good enough and want a set I can do both German and the English set in the photo at cost.

As was

Has anyone got photos of the two instruction cards for the Duo, English and/or German versions? Just the wording would be fine.

Done a good job there, bet the process was painstaking?!?! Any reason why you chose solid colours on some of the numbers rather than the original white background?

I was in two minds about that and can easily change it. It just seems to me the English stick-over numbers look so bleak. True, the German ones have white backgrounds but fill the spaces better. I might try a version where, like the German numbers, the colors of the numbers vary red and black.

Deja Vu ....

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2800 (Topic now merged - site admin)

Whilst attempting to shift my treasures out of Coventry I came across the remains of a Duomat, not much of the mech, but the two wheels and numbers are there. I have to go back in a few weeks. If anybody is interested I'll make sure it goes in the van.

Otherwise ..............

If there's anything else over there bandit-wise that you have left over, I'd quite happily make the trip again :)
Good to meet you sir :)

You're welcome, glad the pinball went to a good caring home. I was astonished it fired up after sitting static for over two years.

You probably saw the Jennings Governor in the corner, all there but totally shite chrome, would benefit from de-plating and polishing up. On the floor there was a Mills Extraordinaire (or however it's spelt) in pieces. Both were taken in part chop and I guess I just never had the interest in them.

there is one in the auction this sunday at Leamington, it looks quite nice, although it is supposed to have been in a Scottish barn for years.
