Fascinating bundle of treasures there.
What would a complete one look like?

Hi BP!

Here is a nice one:
DSCN5542.JPG

Omega by Jentzsch & Meerz with Mint vendor, 1 to 24 payout, brake system, brake control (if brake not used...no payout)....cast iron front.
I had 6 in stock, 3 are wrecked now. The cranks allmost missing so i cast some in brass.

Thank you.
Best picture of one I've seen.
I'm very fond of cranking handles.

I’ve almost finished my 2 weeks quarantine after overseas travel my plan was to paint some cabinets
1964 midway raceway
1954 Seeburg Coon hunt
1940 holly crane

Currently raceway is painted and mostly reassembled
Coon hunt is 90% painted and partially re assembled
Holly crane is stripped and sanded hopefully ready for some shellac tomororow

To the uninitiated, could someone kindly tell me what a Goldings Flasher is? I’ve obviously missed an auction or twenty in the last couple of years. 🤔

A 'Flasher' is a generic term for a type of gaming machine that displays the symbols using flashing lights rather than rotating drums, discs &c..
They started off as a way to circumvent gaming laws (as usual), but became popular in their own right during the 1950s and '60s.
'Golding' is the name of a distributor of such machines.

Here some better pictures. If there is no mint in the vendor, the machine also close the coin insert. :tut

I`ve casted the crank with homemade mixture of sand with soda water glass, hardened with carbonic acid. It allows gas to flew out, so you get very fine finsh for high temperatur casting. Blank casting was softly grinded, and then polished with a very large industrial machine.

Well, I never knew that after 40 odd years of collecting/hoarding slots. Thank you.

Well the score so far in the fourth week is ....
2 Gunther Wulff wall bandits
1 Columbia Groetchen
1 Allwin

..... and the next one will involve a rewire and complete paint strip and tart up. Who can identify it from the inside? I know Mr P, Uncle Stuart and JC will be able to, so give others a chance.
This game I think is a superb bit of fun incorporating game play borrowed from ....
See-Saw
Payramid
Bomb Dropper
All in one strangely shaped metal case.

BP
ps- Clue, neither the angle-poise lamp nor the coffee tin are part of it, anything else could be! !PUZZLED!

If I’m not mistaken, I know exactly what it is. It’s a Bryan’s Payramid. Too easy.

You're wrong you are mistaken.
Note .....
Minor electrics feeding a couple of solenoids.
No pay out, just return of coin played.

Samson slick, impossible to operate due to its unreliability.

Well spotted.
A good game when it's working. Three games in one, in fact.

As TF said "That’s rather slick"
The door from the front (for those not familiar)

S-doora.jpg

Two knobs at bottom, one releases ball a la Payramid tube full of balls method, the other operates the tipping of the see saw at the top, the forks lower down and by pushing it in it makes the shelf at the bottom retract so the ball drops.
There are three targets to get the ball through achieving each one moves the clock 3 points. 5 balls per 1d. If you get all 15 points you get your penny back and a free game.
Originally running on a battery (this one has a transformer in it) I think most operators sussed that the electrickery only made the scoring work. So don't put the battery in and it'll still take money and play. You just don't get your penny back or another game.
However with 5 balls plus having to score maximum every time, it's quite a lengthy game and I expect few complained.

Time to get on with it!

BP !!FLAMED!!

One GOOD consequence of this sequestration is: 1) the number of terrific restorations in progress, and 2) the much appreciated increase in volume of posts to the Forum here at PennyMachines.

Well done, lads and lasses. We should do this at least once every millennium.
