LOCK DOWN TIME!

SO then guys and girls (if there is any), what's everyone else going to be tinkering with during this period of isolation? Myself, I'm finishing off a Mutoscope Traveling Crane, Pace Bantam and a Superior Confectionery Mint Vendor. That should keep me busy for a while, but still have a couple more as back up if it's a long haul. It's a very strange time for us all but every cloud, as they say, so stay safe people and keep your spirits up, bye. :tarah:

It's a Brenner "Past the arrow", a "Hi-Top" and (hopefully, it it arrives) a "Sega Windsor" for me, plus I have six slot machine belly glasses, award cards and top glasses to make.

Nice of Boris to include "hardware stores" as essential business so we can still get all the bits we need !THUMBS! Anyone know where there is still a hardware store? :!?!:

Charles Dicken's in West Hartlepool is the biggest in my area.
Not a lot of use to the good people of Lewes, I don't suppose!

Here's the first one a rare Superior Confectionery slot. Not my desired model, but nevertheless still a Superior! The cranes well on its way. Amazing what you can do when you're locked down!

Well done Big Man.
Your efforts certainly make the two Günter Wulff I've done look soppy.

My first lock down project all but finished( I need locks) What great machines these are, the first I've had, and made in Croydon, just up the road from where I lived for the first 50 years of my life (does anyone know the address?)

I fitted a light in the same style as the original lit machines and it looks great at night. In the third photo, can anyone tell me, are the small screwed in bars on the arrow setting cog original operator options or, as I suspect. operator conversions? I'd be sure they were added except that they have different height settings !PUZZLED!
The last photo shows the growing line of finished machines! Will the gov supply us with machines to work on if the lockdown is extended to stop us going crazy :!?!:
but then again.........we are already crazy. :burp:

My thanks to my good friend Peter in Germany for selling me the Brenner (which had a red case then) at a very reasonable price. !THUMBS!

By altering the depth of the gaps on the star wheel it restricts the pay out on those numbers. The same as bridging the valleys on Gunther Wulff reels.
Where did you live the following 50 years of your life Paul?

As it's "Show me yours and I'll show you mine" time.
This the best G.W. wall bandit I've ever come across.
It honestly looks as if it came out of Herr Wullf's Spielautomat Palast des bösen Ausstellungsraums only last week.
English graphics, locks & keys and cash box 1960. It's only real issue for me was it was on 20np/1np. The slides were new brass ones.

So I recut the coin entry and return slots.
Reshaped the coin gate to hold 1d.
Reformed the first stage of the coin tube as it had been restricted.
The second stage had been sleeved with a tube held in place with Isopon, I burnt that out and reamed it smooth.
I reamed out the slides from 22mm holes to 32mm and took the opportunity to re centre the stack.
The game was also very fast, so I removed the wiring on the clock's governor, it's now 20 seconds, but will speed up with playing as the copper leaves aren't bedded in yet and still retain a bit of memory. 15 seconds will be better unless you're in the habit of falling asleep between plays.
The restart on reel one was intermittent and lazy. Dismantling that element and cleaning/lubricating all pivots and axles cured that.
Each reel had a bridge spanning a higher pay out with a change of reel symbol. All removed.

All in all an easy job. (now edited with a new link)

I know I just discovered that myself.
I'm trying to post a video without using a hosting site. I guess I'll have to open a reddit account or something equally tiresome?

I find myself getting very distracted and moving from one task to another without finishing first. Started to tidy spares and odds and sods because somewhere I had a load of small glass pieces for escalator windows and needed them for a bunch of machines. I must have put them somewhere safe and after two days could not find them. I did find a part hopefully Dutchboy needed that was buried - a bonus...

It then occurred to me I have a few sheets of old broken clock glass I was dumping (my previous failed efforts at cutting glass) and thought I would try and cut some. After two hours of breaking most of it into pieces too small to use, I decided to watch a few YouTube videos. Believe it or not I am useless at cutting glass, especially tiny precise pieces and end up going to the glacier....

So after much persistence I have finally overcome my fear and incompetence of glass cutting and cut 9 perfect pieces one after the other and I still have spare glass for a few more.

Right, onto my next distraction. :smash:

Congratulations.
Cutting glass along with whistling by jamming fingers in my mouth has also eluded me.

I've only just mastered soldering properly.
