Thanks, that's quite an interesting snippet on my 3 Bells. I haven't touched it yet as I'm as always on with another machine at the moment, but in any case I can't source a transformer for it yet. Has anyone got a transformer by any chance?

A pinball expert I met last week suggested the company Brownings Electrics in Barking as a place that might be able to wire-wind custom items. I'm hoping a possible place that might be able to help with the bi-metallic switches:

If I have any joy, I'll post it here.

If you can't get the original thermal-type delay, you could use a Time Delay Relay from here:
Ebay seller " 365bestseller ".
Search for 'Time Delay Relay'. They are made in Japan, and the timing is variable. They come in numerous coil voltages and delay ranges. I've used loads of them.
Same seller has a good selection of other relays and suchlike.

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
I’ve read most of the posts on these machines and it brought back many memories. These machines were produced by my Grandfathers company - Jamieson Automatics and i spent many of my childhood days “playing” in the workshops and trying out my “fixing” skills !!!
I would love to get one of these machines to keep in Jamieson family to pass onto my children - anyone point me in the right direction
Cheers Thomas

Hello Thomas and welcome. Good to have family ties to a manufacturer on this site and would be wonderful to get information on the company. I know one of our collector colleagues who had done research in the past had linked up with a Ian Jamieson’s who shared information and pictures for his site, now run by Badpenny and Coppin http://www.penny-arcade.info/the-jamissons-collection
A period of machine I love and many others, although electricity and me don’t mix I should think many collectors here have or had at least one Jamieson’s machine in their collection, I have around 8 mainly the wall cabinet types like Rotopool. Problem is most don’t work or partially work.....although I did get an Easy Push as mentioned recently which is now proudly being shown..
Do you know what type of machine you are after

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
Welcome Thomas. As Treefrog says, it's always great to hear from someone with direct memories and connections to the industry. I spoke to Ian many years ago and he provided useful information about Arthur's company when I was compiling a survey of Portable Penny Pushers. Jamieson machines turn up quite frequently in the auctions and I remember a time when they were very cheap to acquire. Prices have crept up over the last decade with a Rotolite making a record £780 in 2016. If you keep your eye on the auctions, and are prepared to bide your time, it should be possible to find them for a lot less.

Hi
Thanks for the replies - dont know much about the early Jamiesons days but as i said before i did spend alot of my time messing about in the Bridlington old town workshops trying out my fixing skills !!
I’m idealy looking for one of the wall type machines - not sure which - have to see what turns up - i’ll keep checking out the auction sites - unless anyone has any other suggestions ??
Cheers Thomas

Looks an easy restoration, very nice Rotopool....wondered what is hidden behind the years of dust, cobwebs and sawdust

Wow - that looks a bit of a mess - someone has bid on it now so must fancy a challenge resoring it - not sure it’s one for me - is this the typical resto condition/price as not come across one before?
Thanks for the link.

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
I'd take it on, if it was a bit closer.
Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
It's closer to you, by three miles, than it is to me.
(82 against 85).
I'll not complain if you outbid me. £41 will do it.
Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
Well, I thankfully got outbid!
A good rule is 'don't bid until you've studied ALL of the pictures'. It looked quite good in the first two.
Is the new owner on here? Perhaps it isn't totally hopeless after all.
I bought the TELSTAR instead. Further report coming once I've opened the box.

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
Ha ha excellent Let’s see if you have any luck getting it going.....
Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
The TELSTAR is now up-and-running.
It wasn't a major job, once I'd got started. More of a re-commission than a restoration.

Hey well done, I have a van load of Jamiesons machines on their way to you

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.
This is quite an old bump, but wondering if this from eBay might be a (bulky) solution for failed bi-metallic thermal switches on Jamieson machines, such as Electro Dart. Seems there's quite a few Jamieson's machines that could be brought back to full-life with a fix for the start-up and pay-out/bell relays.
Search eBay on "AC12-380V±10% DC12-48V 50/60Hz Din Rail Time Relay Power On Delay Timer". This is the blurb:

2. Time relay TH-206 uses advanced large scale integrated circuit
3. Beautiful appearance, exquisite and compact
4. Wide delay range, high accuracy and reliable operation
5. Low power consumption, long life, large contact capacity and easy installation
6. Suitable for all types of automated control systems.
Specification:
Item Type: Relay

Bingola, Jamieson Automatics, part missing
Topic moved & merged - Site Admin.
I won this machine at auction a while back. After quite a lot of work it now appears to be fully working with one exception. On the electrical panel next to the relays there is a blank space with two screw holes and two wires that have been cut. Having traced, drawn and analysed the circuit the missing device would appear to activate briefly only upon a win (oscilloscope confirms that on a win there is a single 600 millisecond pulse of 24V). My suspicion is that this would have been a bell that gave a single strike on a win. Can anyone confirm what it was?

I think so... Check out earlier posts in the topic now merged above.
