That looks like a genuine Caille, whereas most of the British machines are questioned whether they are repurposed Caille machines or ones using recast parts. Can never remember whether there was a final conclusion on this.

Looks like a coin overflow lever, which pushes full coin tube excess coins into the cash box. Without a coin tube obviously not doing anything.

So you need to work out what is blocking the cycle finish or allow the timing arm and main operating arm return back up, as this is likely to relate to what is causing your problem. No, and looks nice. As you say, it looks like old plastic with the cracking, so either a rare version or a showman’s modification, but done well.
