Re: EH / Collector Connector sales
Fair does Bob.
It sounds like they took the time spent at the end for paying in (and out?) and just divided it up to spread it across the active part of the auction.

Re: EH / Collector Connector sales
..... the auctioneer had 2 runners When you won the auction they were over Asking for the money and came back with the receipt It didn’t actually go that slow and machines were paid for and you could leave straight away With your treasure 👍🏻 An interesting approach, I can see an increase in staff t...

Well done, it's great when you succeed in curing them, isn't it?
The problem with grease is it attracts dirt, grit, hair etc.
Then it dries out and goes hard, trapping all the undesirable muck just where you don't want it.

Re: Mills Jackpot Torch Front identified
When you took the reel assembly out, did you notice any clips added to the cogs (star wheels) which the stop levers enter to stop the spinning? Alternatively, the three plate discs attached to the right of the reels, have they any of the holes which the vertical fingers slide through, plugged up? Th...

Nice to keep it in the family.
Yes it is very easy to rig so that the jack pot is unobtainable, also very common practice. They're not called bandits for nothing.
Let us see how it goes for you, and good luck.

Re: What kind of slot machine is this?
Hi
Welcome to Pennymachines.co.uk
Your machine is a Jackpot Bell [Torch Front]. If you put that into Google you'll find lots of photos, most of which quote 1928.
As it's on Americaland coinage, is that where you are?

Re: Levitating Lady
That'll be the bogger. It was a few years ago and I recall it fooled me at the time. Which as an ex member of the Magic Circle should leave me suitably embarrassed ... if I cared.
I'm glad that at least my memory is holding up despite the failing of most of my other faculties.

Re: 20 percent VAT on machines
The quote "There is VAT on second-hand goods if the seller is VAT registered. etc. etc." was lifted directly from HMRC website. I quoted it as I have fond memories as a publican of paying VAT on fixtures and fittings when moving pubs and nobody could describe a load of old tables chairs an...

Re: Levitating Lady
Not a working model per se, but Jerry C had one in his arcade in Brighton. I'm probably misremembering, I recall it as more like a wall machine which contained a woman laid out in front of a mirror. Insert a coin turn the handle and she floated up in front of the mirror. All marvellous stuff. BP :co...
