Coin Operated Rolls Weighing Scales - Adjustment?

Hi all, I'm not sure if this falls into the realms of penny machines or not.... A few months ago, I bought some coin operated weighing scales from a pub (my job involves visiting lots of pubs), and this was sat in the corridor. It wasn't working as the weight displayed wasn't correct, but apparently...

Electric Hopper Payout (for Aristocrat Quadreel)

Hi all, after a break of a few years since my last once armed bandit, I've once again got the bug and have acquired another, an Aristocrat Quadreel/Hoots Mon. This one has a bit of a background story - my dad bought this in 1978 when I was 2 years old, and it was in the spare bedroom and played dail...

Re: Jubilee Riviera - Reels not spinning?

Hi Treefrog/BP, Yes, the reels do spin freely - I can pull the handle and quickly arrange a win before the reels lock in position, so I dont think it is an obstruction. I'm not sure what a kicker arm looks like, but I will get the mechanism out again tonight and have a good look and see if I can see...

Jubilee Riviera - Reels not spinning?

Hi guys, My Jubilee Riviera has been playing nicely for ages, however over the weekend it developed a problem. When you pull the handle, the reels hardly spin at all. They lock into position fine, and pay out fine on wins etc but the actual spin has no power to it. I took the mech out yesterday for ...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Hi BP, Thanks for that - fixed it! I could not see where the base could be adjusted, but the actual coin entry section of the mechanism tilts forward and backward a little if you loosen the bolts, and this was enough to close the gap. It was quite fiddly as too much one way and the gap was too big, ...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Great, thanks, will order a box of split pins - but in the meantime, the split pin I made with the bent mains wire looks as good as the existing ones, so thanks for the tip! My next issue I might tackle, is sometimes when you insert coins they drop down into the reel window. The reason for this is t...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Thanks BP, I don't know how I missed that when I looked last time! I think last time I had it on the floor but today I put it on a stool, so the moral of the story for me is to look at things when they are at a comfortable height :) Thanks for the link - I will get a box of split pins. It looks like...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Success!!!!!! I ended up removing the split pin from the other end of the small crank (is the right word), which allowed me to remove it and re-seat it properly, and hey presto, it now works :) It looks like the problem was the crank lifting off the post below it because the split pin was missing. T...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Hi BP, thanks for the advice..... However, before I saw your post I thought I would go and have another look and unfortunately the issue wasn't as simple as a stuck coin (but thanks to the person who suggested this - at least I will know how to check that next time!). On closer inspection, I think I...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Thanks Malcymalc, sorry for the delay in updating this post - I've not had much time recently. I will try and look into this tonight to see if a stuck coin is the problem and let you know how I get on.

Thanks again, Mark

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Thanks Coppinpr, I didn't realise there was any adjustment in the handle. I will definitely have a look at adjusting that part, and to be honest the handle looks relatively simple compared to the rest of the machine, so hopefully I can't do too much damage there :) Here are some pictures of the mach...

Re: Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Thanks Coppinpr, some good advice! The handle does pull ok with the mech out of the machine, but not with the mech in place. I will get it out tomorrow and take some pics - will also try removing the coin tube as you suggested. On another note, the handle does not spring back into position after it ...

Riviera OXO Handle stuck!

Hi guys, Tonight I had a quick go on my Riviera OXO, however I have a problem. Firstly, I got a win lin XXX and it did not pay out. Then immediately after, I pulled the handle again but it pulled half way and jammed. Luckily it was me playing, so I immediately stopped and got my keys out. However, w...

Locks for Riviera?

Hi guys, On my 2p machine it had locks with 2 keys for each when I bought it. However my 10p riviera has one key for the front door and no lock/key for the cash drawer. Ideally I would like to change both locks so I have 2 keys for each - could anyone let me know what type of lock I need and where t...

Re: Should I remove the electric lights?

Hi guys,
Thanks for the advice, especially re; LED's. I hadn't thought of that!

Hi Jingle, I would have done the same..... even though I rarely have any space, if I see something for a good price I can't help buying it!

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Should I remove the electric lights?

Hi guys, many thanks - some good advice! I think I will chck the things Badpenny suggested (I have a few pinball machines to and do the same with them), and probably leave it unplugged for now as with the two standing side by side it would look odd with one lit up and one not. Thanks Badpenny, I wil...

Should I remove the electric lights?

Hi guys, As you may recall from my earlier posts, I have a Jubilee Riviera on 2p play. I have just bought another, but this one it is on 10p play. My 2p machine came with the electrics removed (tubes, starter, wiring, etc) apparently for safely reasons, however, my second machine has the lights and ...

Re: Thickness of 2p coins

Thanks guys, interesting stuff! So are we saying the non magnetic 2p's will be older (and therefore thinner) and the magnectic ones are newer, and potentially thicker???? Good idea about getting a batch of old 2p's to keep recycling through the machine! I've got a couple of pushers too, and well ove...

Re: Rainbow Falls

Thanks for that - great advice! I hadn't thought about taking a picture and making stickers - and I've rememered a friend who is into photography and art etc, and I'm sure he could knock something up. Failing that, I'll let you know :) Will try and post pictures of finished results once done! Thanks...

Thickness of 2p coins

Hi all, Both of my machines sometimes short-pay by one coin. This seems to happen when it pays out newer 2p's rather than older ones, so I assume newer 2p's are slightly thicker than older ones. Rather than measure the thickness of each coin, could anyone tell me the year when the thickness changed,...
