I have this machine fully restored and used on ebay as my store picture. The first Watling counter top jackpot model. Jackpot looks like the Jennings Victoria jackpot.

Bally Ford Automatic

I have a Bally Mfg. N. Ireland 5P Ford Automatic. I tried to Google it with no luck. I would like to know if there are any pics available of the casino it was put in and how rare it may be. Also, does anyone have a top marquee for it? I am converting it to 5C, but keeping all the 5P parts to go with...

Re: Mills screw/bolt sizes

Mills as well as Jennings used USS/SAE 5/40,6/32,8/32,10/24, 10/32 flat blade and carriage screws. Same for Pace screws. Pace carriage screws were 10/24. Same for Watling except Watling carriage bolts were either 10/24 or 12/24, depending on the year they were made.

You have a partial Aristocrat mechanism in an even older Mills Poinsettia case. Any inside pics of the case?

Re: Can someone tell me what this Mills part was for?

A finger spring ran from the hook to a serrated vertical jackpot finger which the picture shown does not have. The connection was to keep the players from slamming the machine on its side and tripping the jackpot.

Re: Artwork on side of Mills bandits

Scroll work was used primarily for the gooseneck models. The escalator models did not come that way. However, if the cabinet was retrofitted with newer castings you could have the side scroll work and the early escalator models did have custom trim parts which could have included the scrolled sides ...

Re: New Mills Black Cherry

Original Mills Black Cherry machines were gloss black painted cases to cover defective wood used on them. Castings were originally painted a Hammer grey or silver gray. Escalator window and reel window was red. Also had black runners under the base which were removed if put into a stand.

Re: Mills payout problem, help please!

Sounds like a payout plate alignment problem. #3 should be 2-3 mm above the anti backspin lever. If it is OK then you loosen the screws on reel hub #2 and adjust the #2 plate so it too is 2-3 mm above the anti backspin lever. Repeat same for plate #1. Be sure not to let the reel stop stars move whil...

1 The 2nd and 3rd hubs are binding on each other due to metal on metal problem or lack of lubrication in the hub spindles. 2. The push bar is either worn and needs a spot of weld on the end or the lift pin on the Johnson bar needs to be pushed in a trifle. 3. easiest way to realign the reels without...

Re: Mills Jackpot playing up

If the jackpot door is not latched on the left side, the release lever on the right disengages when you put the mech in and all your coins fall to the tray. Be sure the lift lever on the left is engaged before putting the mech in. If it still trips as the mech goes in, then check that the trip pin o...

Re: War Eagle - reproduction or not?

Two ways to check if the machine is a repro. First the castings will have slag bumps in the inside corners due to cheaper sand casting instead of investment casting. The other way is the jackpot check plate is solid, not removable. Too expensive to make that part seperately now.

It is definitely a Sega, Continental Series, 1968. Models were the Continental, Diamond Star, Monaco, Mad Money, Bonus Star, Payback Star, Diamond 3 Star, Diamond 4 Star, Double Pay Star and two smaller versions: the Starlet and Monaco Starlet. Your machine is missing the Sega name on the belly and ...

Re: Mills Super Star

This is a Mills / Autobell Revamp made about 1962-64. Mills was selling off older molds to stay in business. The end being when they sold the remaining stock to Sega in 64. None of the castings has any part numbers stamped on them. Autobell also made the Wild Indian with similar lower casting. The S...
