Newbie thoughts and Space Flight pics
Topic moved & merged - Site Admin. Hello all. I finally made up my mind about this machine. After a few paint jobs and placement issues I decided it wasn't going to work in that particular room. It needed a new cabinet with veneer or Formica and although everything was there I looked at it and ...

Re: Beromat arm removal
Managed to get it off. It's a slotted pin that can be knocked out with the right size punch and fitting is the same. Slot keeps it tight once located. T

Beromat arm removal
Hello all, starting to get on with resto on my Spaceflight Beromat. The arm/lever that punter pulls needs to come off and my question is how? I can see it's attached to other moving parts by a grub screw or hollow pin. Noticed there is just one slot to rim? Don't want to be heavy handed, probably an...

Re: Space Flight Beromat
Hello Tom, thanks for reply. Have spoken to Dave and would rather restore what I have got as I like resto projects. After initial thoughts I am ditching new cabinet idea and treated old wood and will get it covered in Formica. So with that in mind I would like to go with your "rusty pile" ...

Re: Space Flight Beromat
Regarding the pot metal debate, I've seen this on post war motorbike side casings etc., usually small Villiers. Some were perfect whilst same part from another machine was riddled with fatigue. I think sometimes they threw any old thing in the smelting pot and heat/stress etc. showed up in later yea...

Re: New member, Space Flight Beromat
Hello, yes Devon is a long way for a lot of people and adds to cost. I thought I got it cheap but the listing wasn't the best advert in terms of pictures or keywords. As I am a novice and this is my first machine I will have a look at more examples and see what I think. Not in any rush and and don't...

Hello, just joined this website so introducing myself. I am 57 male living in Teignmouth, ex armed forces, like all things mechanical. Used to restore vintage motorcycles but it's all got a bit silly with stupid money now. Very much into 1950s and always wanted a fruit machine. Stayed away from elec...
