Re: Crompton Cover The Spot flyer

This is the first machine I ever remember playing. There was one of these on the North pier in Blackpool in about 1972. We were on holiday at the time and mum and dad gave me 10d to play the slot machines, I was only about 7!

Happy days! :*:

Re: Old copies of Coin Slot

Thanks for that slotalot, it was very interesting. I'm always on the look out for anything to do with E/M fruit machines from the 60's and 70's. Here's the link again for anyone else who wants to have a look because the original isn't working! http://www.lentontimes.co.uk/images/gallery/leen_...

Re: Bell Fruit - Wildcat

I'm forced to disagree with you there, Badpenny! according to my research she DID come first, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_United_Kingdom In the same year, 1967, she came 5th (4th runner up) in the Miss World contest, http://www.geocities.com/kingdomofmissworld/world1961-1970.html Accurate info...

Bell Fruit - Wildcat

Assuming it's the machine pictured.
Miss Jenny Lewis, the winner of Miss UK 1967 appears on the front glass
and the machine dates from 21/6/69.
Hope that's of some help to you :)

Re: **WANTED**

After nearly 5 weeks of searching and loads of phone calls later I've finally found the person that's in charge of the CD archive. It seems the CD costs £600 or £800 (he can't remember which) and they contain every issue except two or three. Although the price is less than the original £2000 quot...

Quick update, the good news is they do exist but the problem is finding out wich company holds them. After being passed from pillar to post for two days no-one seems to know where they're held. It seems that neither "World's Fair", "Coin Slot" or BACTA have them now, but all thre...

Re: **WANTED**

Your sugestions could be very helpful!!! I never even thought about Microfiche but now you mention it that sounds like the best option, at least I should be able to get some continuity and possibly even obtain every issue from the start. As far as the price is concerned If it allowes me to get going...

Re: **WANTED**

Hi "Penny Machines", Yes, I do intend publishing a book, but I think the way things are going that could be several years off! The problem is, my main source of information is the "Coin Slot" Newspaper and these are very hard to come by. So it's all dependant on how quickly I can...

Old copies of Coin Slot

To help with my historical record of amusement arcades and amusement machines I'm searching for old copies of the "Coin Slot" newspaper. I'm looking to buy any pre 1990 editions and there's cash waiting! "Coin Slot" caters to the amusement industry and during the relevent period ...
