Re: identity of thes allwin?

Definitely Shefras, although obviously a variant of the more familiar electric-pay version TF posted. Shefras made both oak with overhanging top and base style cabinets and the streamlined, recessed-top style, in a softer wood. Anyone know what wood it is? Considerably lighter-weight than oak. Alder...

Re: Up and Coming Auction in the Netherlands

Re: Brenco Swinging Swinger

I've put all the info you posted about the Barry's Amusement sale in the Arena (and given you a free year's subs.) Interesting how well attended this early sale was, even though it wasn't city-based. What a charming little arcade it was! Makes me quite nostalgic, not least for the days when an aucti...

Re: Oh Boy Gum vending machine

It has the same connotation, but judging by the very white-faced character, I suspect that's not what the advertisers had in mind. A ninny is just a fool or simpleton, so maybe they're suggesting you'd have to be one to buy these sweets? :o Re. preserving the graphics, I think you just need to keep ...

Re: Oh Boy gum vending machine

Does the vendor read, 'BRITISH & BOY IT'S PURE'?

I'm guessing this isn't the same Oh Boy gum made by the Goudey Gum Co. of Boston, Massachusetts in the 1920s. Maybe they had to change the name, which could account for the obscurity.
