Re: Bryans matching number pair Fruitbowl & Clock find new home

My first reaction was that my NI number looks somewhat similar. I'm wondering if it refers to the order number in Bryans ledger or maybe the job number. Especially as (from what I hear) in the declining years there weren't large stock numbers of machines held at the works and possibly they were made...

Re: Evan's/William's ten strike

I'm aware there are at least two types. The original from the 50s (?) and a modern version from around this century (?) The latter being obvious by its LED scoring instead of reels. The last time I saw one for sale it was just shy of £10K irregardless of which generation. Others may have different e...

Yes I am, and suspect everybody else is too.
I'm used to having them around as I have to handle one every time I do my ablutions.

I wonder if The Exhibit Supply version was any easier to play?
Those small, smooth edged OW knobs are a bugger to grip.

Re: Looking forward....

Two things about The Black Death/Bubonic Plague. At least in the 14th Century during the first cycle of the plague it stopped a war between us and the French. However that didn't go away either, it's next visit was of course in the 1660s and was only eradicated in London by The Great Fire of 1666. A...

Re: Looking forward....

I know I'm going to sound like a grumpy old fart, and I can only comment on what I've witnessed. All during this we've been one of the lowest in UK, and the place was like something out of an apocalyptic film. You could even cross main roads without bothering to look. Then ....! The university and c...

Nice work that, well done.
I have a very soft spot for Günter Wulff mechanical machines, they're like the Cinderella of my era.
Yet the mechanics are beyond compare when it comes to design.

Re: Old bandits can crop up anywhere!

I'm wary about valuing anything anywhere at the moment.
Lower end of the market machines are going through the roof while high end bandits, if anything are dipping.

We've seen this sort of pattern happen every 8 - 10 years since the mid 1990s.
