I've seen it done. Although the ones I've observed have been rewired with applicable holders for the LED. I believe that's to do with the need for LEDs to be +/- specific in their connection. I'm sure somebody will know if any LEDs are currently available for direct fitting, but as for anything simi...

It'd probably help if this part was fitted correctly.
It should be fitted horizontally instead of upside out.
