Re: British Automatic Company - What type of machine is it?

Probably train or tram tickets. Pity the enamel signage is gone as would add greatly to the provenance of where it was used. It's still cheap.

Re: Kiss o Meter and Skill machine query

Yes BP, I had to fiddle around filing any roughness from the internal levers so as to make it easier to push the Penny through each mech. Possibly not helped by wear and tear to the castings I imagine. I've nearly finished remaking the artwork that was sent to me years ago by a photo Bob Klepner had...

Re: Kiss o Meter and Skill machine query

While researching the 1954 Whales machine I realised it was closely stolen from an Exhibit Supply piece circa 1940.

Re: Magic Hand by A H Soffle

Very closely resembles the Ahrens Pile Driver, though that has 12 prizes and this has 14. Looks like one was based on the other.

Re: Wrigleys PK gum vending machine

Coin-op, if that was mine I'd just hand paint in the background blue of that art and will look so much nicer. Much better than a totally new print with two machines looking identical. Seems to be unique artwork made just for this machine, as a quick look online did not find anything exactly the same.

F C Bolland decal 1930

This is on an early 30's machine of mine, the Arcades book says he moved all his businesses to this address in May 1930.

Re: ABT Target Skill restore

what do you mean by animated target gallery? I thought the targets just sat there on these ABT games? Up or down.... They use a clockwork motor that lifts only one ball into view at any given time using cams, so you have to constantly re-aim. The guns give ten shots and the clockwork when properly ...

Re: Auction today

I am intrigued if these were every copied, as the one I saw looked like it had been cast three years ago. I've certainly never seen any copies and really doubt anybody would bother as these are complex to re-make and by far the most common early shockers there are. My guess would be a survival of a...
