Re: Oh Boy Gum vending machine
Just got back from the locksmiths who managed to get her open, just means now the machine can be mounted on a wall again, the screws holding the gum drawer are seized solid though, wd 40 time I think, I have enclosed some close up pics of the front decals as well.

Re: Oh Boy Gum vending machine
Wow, never thought I would see another machine, and good to see how it would have looked when it was new, and what the bottom part of the machine looks like that is missing on mine. Made my day that has.

Re: Oh Boy Gum vending machine
Looks to read, 'BRITISH & BEST - BOY IT'S PURE'. I had seen the cigarette cards advertised on ebay from America and Oh Boy gum. I shall research it further with the Boston company. Thanks for the info.

Oh Boy Gum vending machine
I recently acquired this vintage (possibly around the 1930s), Oh Boy gum vending machine. Can't find another picture of one. I asked the previous owner about the history of the machine. She had bought it in 1979 from an antiques shop in Southampton. The owner of the shop knew nothing of its history....

Re: Jamiesons Skill Poker blown fuse
That is very good information you have given me, and I guess being in the industry you can't afford to be spending hours trying to fix and maintain these machines, I'm looking at where the fuse is on my machine, with all connectors pulled out and it looks as though it hasn't had the chance to connec...

Jamiesons Skill Poker blown fuse
I am trying to fix my Jamiesons Skill Poker machine. I am still at novice level, I have bought the multi meter and the cleaning chemical to clean the PCB. The problem is that when I turn on the game, the fuse which is 5 amps keeps blowing. At first I thought it could be the power surge from the flor...

Re: Old and the New
Sorry admin, I couldn't help myself. My explanation is that you go for a ride on your bike to clear your head, and when you get back you realise why your penny machine isn't working and you can then fix it.

Re: OLD AND THE NEW
Sounds like a good plan treefrog, I look forward to your travelogue, although you did mention motorbikes which has nothing to do with penny machines, and I am sure "moonriver" will come on here and say you are just advertising for the two wheeled community, I have a 1992 gsxr 1100 by the w...

Re: OLD AND THE NEW
I have no connection to this company, I went and enjoyed it. Just wanted other people to enjoy it also. What's so wrong with that?? People are so cynical!!

Old and the New
I recently visited a company called Arcade Club in Bury (also one in Leeds ). They have two floors of arcade machines; one floor has the machines from the late '70s into the '80s with machines such as Space Invaders, Moon Crest, Galaxians, Asteroids etc etc, also a large selection of modern pinball ...

Re: Jamieson Royal Flush and similar info and wiring
Seems to be a common issue with the shooter / trigger part missing. Surely someone with a bit of / lot of mechanical know-how can duplicate one of the mechanisms by copying the original shooter part by means of casting?? or maybe 3d printer? (or do 3d printers just generate plastic parts ?)

Re: Jamieson Royal flush and similar info and wiring
Robin, your Grandad was a genius, great to have you posting on here. If you could post some internal pictures of your Skill Poker machine so myself and others can compare, that would be fantastic. We need to get these machines up and running - mine looks great on the wall to look at, but they were m...

Re: Jamieson Royal flush and similar info and wiring
My Jamieson's Skill Poker machine has the same issue, no shooter part. I am trying to figure out what it even looks like. Maybe it is similiar to the outside chrome piece?? Pics are of a Mini Golf that shoots up.

Re: Jamiesons Skill Poker machine
Think I might take an electronics course at college, or at least buy a multi meter. I think you are right though, somebody who understands pinball machines would be my best bet. I have seen clips on youtube of a similar bingo machine that somebody is demonstrating how the machine works. He is with s...

Re: Jamiesons Skill Poker machine
Thank you brigham for your reply, I have seen the schematics picture that you posted before (many thanks for doing that) but I have no experience in electronics. I don't even know what AVO stands for. The machine seems to be complete and is not far away from working,. I would rather put the machine ...

Jamiesons Skill Poker machine
I was hoping someone out there does repairs on vintage electro mechanical machines. Mine is a Jamiesons Skill Poker machine. I have previously posted on here before about it, and would love to get her working properly. Thanks.
