Re: Jezzard Tap a Coin
Glad you are getting it sorted. In some circuits it is possible to see 2 diodes in series. Just make sure that you get the same ones as replacements. Wthout knowing the serial number of the diode it is unclear if they are rectifier or Zener diodes. They do slightly different jobs. If you can post a ...

Re: Jezzard Tap a Coin
Just in case you have never come across a diode before, it is basically a one way valve. It lets electricity flow in one direction only. They can be used to change AC voltage to DC voltage and other things. !PUZZLED! Anyway, enough of the science. If one has failed in the past, it might be a good id...

Re: Jezzard Tap a Coin
The black things, are rectifier diodes. Can you read the markings on the other two? I suspect all three would have been the same.

Re: Stevenson and Lovett Fireworks
It's been a few years, but I seem to remember it had 2 output voltages for the lights and the coils. Sorry, can't remember what they were.
Here are a couple of photos taken at the time of restoration, might help? might not??

Re: Novelty Merchantman Crane
I think there might be some confusion here?? Unless I misunderstand what you are asking !PUZZLED! If by coin locator, you mean the validator (the top bit with the coin slot) - there is NO physical linkage from this to the lower section where the switch is. The coin falls through the validator and in...

Re: Novelty Merchantman Crane
The top photo shows the coin validator. This is the bit that checks to see if the coin is genuine before letting it fall onto the switch mechanism below. The coin will need to be of a certain weight and size to trip the lower coin mech, (maybe a 50p). What coin is it running on? The lower coin mech ...

Many of these machines have been messed with over the years, motors and coin mechs changed out etc etc. If you could post some photos of your machine showing the motor name plate etc, someone might be able to advise you better.

Re: Cigarette Vending Machine
BDR Bristol started trading in 1928 and was owned by Harry Dolman, over the year they were involved with making Ticket Machines, Cigarette Machines and later Packing Machines. In 1970 the company was bought by the Vokes Group for 5 million pounds, soon after a systematic campaign of asset stripping ...

Re: The National Museum of Penny Slot Machines
Just a reminder to the members of Pennymachines, we are still looking for photos of the original National Museum of Penny Slot Machines from its time on Birnbeck Pier. The museum was set up by Clive Baker & the late John Haywood. Very little is recorded from that time. With your help we can make...

Re: Stevenson and Lovett Fireworks
I doubt you will have any problems, the wiring is very simple, just a few roll over switches and a stepper unit connected to a set of lamps. I did one a few years ago and still have a file full of photos if you need them.

I believe they also made kitchen furniture at one point in time. Not sure if this was before or after them making machines.

Re: Each Way Oliver Whales slot restore
Looking at the hand made label, it must be someone working in a small way. I have found this chap from the mid 1960s. Looks like he may have repaired bicycles as well. Sorry, no name or address.
Good luck with the restoration.
