The Disc Musical Box book

I do collect coin in the slot machines other than those made by Bryans! A few years ago I bought this disc player from an Elephant House Auction. It's probably the oldest machine I own, being late 1890s and, after quite a lot of work, plays very well. 20240120_101056a.jpg 20240120_101110a.jpg Whilst...

Re: Arcade Photographs

I`ve not seen that one before. But by a strange coincidence I own a real photo which is very similar!

Re: Nice row of cast iron machines

I have talked to sweetmeats about this machine. I believe this is the Clacton p/c we looked at. I still can't make out the wording. The machine does appear on several p/c's in my collection, but these are the clearest images I have. !PUZZLED!

That spike on the face of the nob looks brutal and would take some explaining to the parents of the kiddy with the caved in forehead.

Have you been at the sherry already? 🤪
By the way here's a "K" I think you must have dropped one.🤭

Hope you all have a very Happy New Year!

Re: Bryans Gapwin Project

As usual PM beat me to it, mind you I was safely tucked up in bed when I read BP`s post and too tired to answer!
The thumb stop position in the oak is definitely correct. I have several machines with this feature.
It can be seen in this original Bryan's Flyer.

Great find treefrog. Looks to be all there, will make a super machine when finished. You are lucky the bead and barrel moulding is mostly there round the ply front. It`s impossible to find!

I agree JC, the option to buy from PM was suggested in the first reply by 13rebel, so I assumed that led77 had tried that.

I too thought the plane looked a bit crude, and it doesn't appear to be chromed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176015368544?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Sd7tzcBpT52&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=bggMw0iLRp2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY This is on ebay at pr...

Re: International Marriage Brokerage Bureau

I'd never heard of a "heller" , as written by the coin slots. A quick search revealed : "What is a German Heller? heller (plural hellers) (historical) A German coin equivalent to half a pfennig, later used widely as a small coin in Central Europe and the German Empire. A subdivision o...
