Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

As it's only 2v more than the recommended maximum voltage for a 26C2T, it probably wouldn't cause any problems - they are very robust units and should be able to cope with it, with perhaps a small reduction in service life. I'm not sure if inserting a series resistor would affect operation of the ci...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

Roto-Games Time-Delay Relay Problem Solved (?) I have just repaired an Electrodart machine that has been in storage for years, waiting for a replacement time delay relay (the troublesome and rare "cutout" that so often burns out). I am happy to say that my machine is now working, using a ...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

OK - mystery solved - it didn't occur ro me that the blue wire actually connects to the blue wire feeding uniselector 2's solenoid coil, hence its length. I had assumed that the wire needed to be connected to uniselector 1 as in the diagrams, but in this case, not so. Another one for the unusual var...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

Having checked the 1st and 2nd versions of the manuals, it seems to me that the model I have has a rather different wiring design to those shown. Nothing seems to tally with the expected wiring connections - so maybe this is a variant that was made in the factory, or it has been modified somewhat (a...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

A quick update - the blue wire COULD reach across to the left hand uniselector (when they are mounted to the back board of the case) - but where it connects to is still a mystery!

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

Hi coppinpr, Thanks for your suggestion - I did try connecting the wire to that tag, but it made no difference - that's why the solder looks so fresh. Also, the blue wire, when connected to that tag, is very much longer than the other linking blue wires, which makes me think it belongs somewhere in ...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

aa.jpg After much cleaning and some re-soldering of bad joints, I now have the Roto-Pool machine working well - BUT, one thing has stopped me crossing the finishing line - a blue wire has broken off the right-hand uniselector, and I have absolutely no idea where it should connect to (see photo). Th...

Re: Roto-Pool, Roto-Fruit, Rotolite, Electrodart, Bingola, etc.

I have a Roto-Pool in for repair (the 2D-4D-6D payout version), and have got it working again by re-soldering some bad joints, cleaning all the contacts and switches, replacing bulbs and cleaning the sockets, etc. It now works well, with one exception - the payouts are rather strange. I get payouts ...

Aha so that's what it's called - presumably because a bell rang when you won!

Thanks for that, it is much appreciated.

Re: Remember this multiplayer game with unusual playfield?

There is a Whittaker's machine called "Monte Carlo Rally" on which you bet on European destinations which light up during play - could it be a variation of this?

Re: Remember this multiplayer game with unusual playfield?

I don't think we had a World Flight machine in any of the arcades on our coastal resorts (Yarmouth, Hemsby, Lowestoft, etc.), so I cannot tell you anything more about it, but will keep searching the Internet for clues.

Re: Remember this multiplayer game with unusual playfield?

As nobody has yet been able to identify the machine from a description, maybe the attached rough drawing will help (extracted from the memory, so may not be totally accurate!).

Remember this multiplayer game with unusual playfield?

As this forum's members are very resourceful, and have helped id some obscure machines for us recently, how about some memories and info on this one? This was a large multiplayer from the coloured perspex era, which was quite an attraction at the time. The player would insert pennies at the front of...

Re: Another Electro-mechanical giant to identify!

Have to admit, I am at a loss as to what they are - they look like they could be from the Art Deco period judging by their shape.

It might be worth re-posting this query under a new heading, to see if the bandit enthusiasts have any ideas....

Re: Another Electro-mechanical giant to identify!

The reason I ask about the odds is because I have a Royal Ascot wall machine, and there is definitely some skulduggery going on when bets are placed. There is some part of the circuit which detects when a 1/- bet has been made, and alters the outcome accordingly in favour of the operator. When betti...

Re: Another Electro-mechanical giant to identify!

Just wondering about the odds arrangements on these machines - are they "what you see is what you get", or are they weighted electrically, so that it is much harder to land on the single bell symbol than it would appear?

Re: Another Electro-mechanical giant to identify!

Thanks so much for all the information guys. That has certainly filled in the blanks for me!

Another one crossed off the list... Wonder if I could make one from scratch (don't laugh, I have tried before and almost succeeded!).

Re: Magic Toppers

Wow - this is another of the machines I have been trying to get a picture of for ages - I certainly remember playing on one at Great Yarmouth (and its occasional amusing malfunction, which caused two balls to appear under two hats at the same time!). I have not seen one since my childhood though. Th...
