Re: Reel Refurbs or replacements?

You can carefully remove the worst of distortion from the tins in place, with a careful adjustment/gentle twist. If you are a perfectionist (or they are made of plastic), then try and find replacements, but most older machines have a slight bit of distortion... I don't own Jubilees, but if plastic, ...

Re: Michael Aspell: not his own hare

There is one of these for sale in Germany at the moment as the pictures below, but have only just seen PM's you tube video of one in operation. What a sweet little machine, with that wonderful noise when a target is hit from the piston. As below, looks like a clock mechanism times the hare motion I ...

Based on the below previous thread, it is made by Streets. Tempting but as the seller says, it is big and, of course, not working.

Re: Bonhams auction results

The prices are a reflection of the ridiculous charges, I know they have a name, but that cannot justify 25% + Vat.....their London auction houses are even higher..... I am still a big fan of no buyers commission, but just a seller one, that use to happen....you get the punters in then. I assume Elep...

Sky Fighter - Mutoscope

A cracking looking shooter game appeared in Germany last week, made by Mutoscope around 1940.... Fantastic artwork.....These seem to have been popular during the war and there are a lot of write ups of them on the Billboard magazine....shame the seller removed this from auction..I wonder is any of t...

Re: Bell-Fruit Manufacturing Co. bandits

I always get the wife to move my machines  NOT! I am still waiting for this film to appear on TV, as I am sure I have seen this before, and trying to work out if they were models of machines or superimposed (unless they had been drinking Irn Bru) !PUZZLED! These Bell-Fruit machines are beasts,...

Re: Hey Presto wooden box game / machine

Didn't look at the price ticket, most of which were either not there or faded, but looking at the site, looks like their one was a lower quality item not in a wooden box: http://www.junktionantiques.co.uk/gallery3/index.php/Toys/Electric-Speedway-Game There were a few slots machines there that are n...

Ebay Rules

Re: Hey Presto wooden box game / machine

All I know about BGL of London is they produced the only known electric wooden boxed game based on speedway (I only know this because I'm a fan of speedway and its history). As far as I can remember this game was made about 1936 (could well be wrong on that). https://pennymachines.co.uk/Forum/downl...

Topic moved & merged - site admin. To most probably pretty dull, but I have always liked some of the English 50s/60s creations based on German or American mechanisms....This machine on US fleabay, to me looks very English and based on an old penny coinage with the 12 coin payout... Very similar...

This machine was at the Elephant House Auction a couple of times and never sold or reached it's estimate, this ties in with the Leamington Spa address of the seller, well you can't say they are not trying hard to sell their scrap metal, perhaps a bell would help.... :HaHa:

Re: Bandit coinage conversion

Bear in mind when converting a machine to current coinage, chances are it won't remain current for long. Consider how the 50p, 10p, 5p have changed since decimalization. The 5p and 10p are changing again, becoming slightly thicker as nickel plated steel replaces pricey copper: Coin change 'running ...
