Re: Aristocrat Arcadian 65 restoration

That was quite a faff trying to get the springs back on with the machine built up but hey ho, live and learn. A set of picks is invaluable for putting springs back on. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354806222465?epid=2256107848&hash=item529c194e81:g:-vAAAOSwHxJkbkUq&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Jxqc%2...

Great work.
Although using WD40 isn't the best idea, a light coating of 3in1, or sewing machine oil will work much better.

Re: Tim Hunkin Peace

Excellent. When I was landlord of The One Tun in Goodge St W1 we had a very heavily used jukebox. I can't remember how I found it, but obtained a 45 single (CDs had only just come out) which had no recording on it. So for 20np you could buy yourself 3 minutes of silence. It was very popular. Re: Aristocrat Arcadian 65 restoration

The 'coin reject arm' you've taken off is actually the arm that pushes coins into the overflow chute and into the cash box, when the payout tube is full.
Looks like a good project. Those Aristocrat mechs are relatively simple and built like a tank.

I remember him telling me a collector had bought most of them. He only had a few jukes, & a load of '60s Jubilees & Aristocrats left.

Re: Ruffler and Walker - Whats My Line?

It'll be worth £800-1000, when restored. They are great games to play, the aim is to fill a column with balls 'till it overflows then you win a number of pennies, depending on how many balls were in the column. You need a lot more balls, for yours. Here's one I bought a few years ago, very colourful...

Re: Stripper not working (ooo err!)

As Jeremy said, modern stripper is useless. You used to be able to get some called Synstrip, made by Starchem off ebay, but I don't think it's sold anymore.
One option is to soak a rag in thinners & leave it on the paint for 5 minutes, and that should soften it up enough to scrape most of it off.
