Re: Sega - But which one???
There are two learning experiences here, one for you playing around with a machine you can learn from technically, which is great and good fun and secondly, how to buy a good machine or bad one. I hate to say it, but it is true, not all the horrors of a machine's past has occurred during the life sp...

Re: Sega - But which one???
It depends on what you want to achieve. If you are just going to enjoy the pleasure in trying to improve or make something look nice for the experience, then go for it, but there are many machines like this out there (I have enough of them) and will never command a high value. The important thing is...

Re: So many questions....
It is very easy to convert a hopper based machine on the thickness side and that nice quad reel 10p machine (same one used in the Faulty towers bar) could be converted to £2 fairly easily. I have a Kingsway Quadreel already converted to 20p, previously on old 5p. As you all know, slides are a differ...

This one is on old penny, which I thought most of these machines are usually on 6D or 3D. Also states it works, so fingers crossed and will let you know very soon

Re: Horse's Head Bonus on ebay
I can't believe it will work with ebay, but interesting to see, as import licenses or course have nothing to do with gaming laws....the code does exist though: http://tariff.businesslink.gov.uk/tariff-bl/export/commoditycode.html?export=false&from=heading&id=9705000090&simulationDate=22/...

Re: Coin Separator - Mills Castle Front Slot
Answer in theory is yes, depends on the quality of the repro casing. There are adjustments you can make on the base plate to position the mechanism against the jackpot for example.

Re: Sega - But which one???
As BP stated, definitely not Sega, even though it may have a Sega mechanism (but may also be Mills or other)... As far as I am aware, all Segas have a serial number on paper on the inside right, a Sega badge on the rear base (usually fallen off) and all the parts are stamped with Sega serial numbers...

Allwin locks
Having one or two allwins now and not a key to one of them, most being the flat key type, my question is, how easy is it to re-key the lock or get keys made? At the last Coventry auction, I overheard a conversation going around this topic while queueing to pay and regretted not finding out more. To ...

Re: how not to sell on Ebay
I guess for starters it was a Diamond Front, not a Mills Cherry.... I was thinking about both the machines he had and may have made the trip if the Aristocrat was cheaper... The Mills machine has changed its life a few times, probably before the seller had it. E.g., the cabinet has chipboard sides, ...

Re: Modern Vending Machines and values
Again its all about what people remember putting their money into. . Maybe this is why more modern bandits are doing better than older ones in terms of the sale value......Perhaps a better place to put one's money is more modern machines. Lets face it, this hobby is no different to any other, where...

Re: Coin Separator - Mills Castle Front Slot
I noticed this. Never seen such an item and curious of the purpose as if accepting both tokens and normal coinage, how it separates, is a wonder as the exit is at the end of the escalator. Not sure there is space there to separate them. I assume this was done to ensure they did not end up being paid...

Modern Vending Machines and values
When I say modern, 70's onwards. I don't understand why when produced in their thousands they command such high values. This is especially the case of the Cadbury machines, which I assume were made into the 80's, operating on 20p, yet usually fetch up to £200 or more. I can understand good quality o...

Re: So many questions....
Ah so that is what the red light is for. Very interesting Jackpot, although I am surprised they didn't have a coin feed from the overflow to fill up, unless the jackpot is a different coinage, probably one of the last mechanical Aristocrats.
