Re: Niche Collections
I don't see why the BM Co doesn't fit in? I can see the "Whirl Wind" above is a spiral machine because the spiral decides the winner but the "All Winners" is a standard allwin with one extra set of rails. In fact, the "Chip or Bust" has the same number of rails as the ...

Re: Niche Collections
Thank you! I will add those to the post later this weekend. I thought a bit about the specific criteria I wanted to use and I decided to not list machines where the ball is launched via a spiral, so that first one, the BM Co All Winners, wouldn't meet my criteria, but the other 2 do as it's the spir...

Re: Hello from Atlantic Canada
Hello everyone, I have been collecting and restoring old arcade cabinets from the '70s and '80s era. My most recent acquisition was a Duo Mat from an auction house. Unfortunately, the cabinet was missing as well as a few internals but the good news is the front glass is still intact and in good con...

Video on pachinko history, featuring early machines from around the world
Hosted by 谷啓 (Kei Tani), this aired on Nippon TV January 1992 and features Dick Bueschel (USA), Nic Costa (then in the UK), André Simon (France), and 遠藤嘉一 (Kaichi Endo, Japan) amongst others. https://pinballnovice.blogspot.com/2023/10/pachinko-history-tv-mook-mystery.html Many wonderful machines to ...

Re: Looking to confirm this French collector, circa 1991
Yes, this is from that 1992 Nippon TV special that was filmed in 1991. I have acquired the video and am working on subtitles, and while I am hedging that that is Andre Simon, I would like confirmation from other collectors. Do you have a recording of the 1992 talk? I have read the spring 1993 Coin S...

Looking to confirm this French collector, circa 1991
Hello, can anyone here confirm the name of this French collector, filmed here in 1991?
"A. Simon" is given. There is an Andre Simon listed in the Thanks of Jean Lemaitre's book, so I'm assuming it's him, but that's still an assumption. Would love confirmation.

The Nic Costa Archive version 1.1 is online
Nic Costa is a coinop historian perhaps best known for his Automatic Pleasures book and the memorable auction of his outstanding collection. Under the care of Dr. Alan Meades (author of Arcade Britannia,) the Nic Costa Archive has been digitized. I have uploaded it to archive.org as a large ZIP file...

Re: EM machine information?
From Undumped Wiki : Ding A Bell is a non-slot gambling game created by Dennis Jezzard Ltd. and released in 1977. This game is screenless. Ding A Bell is mentioned on page 19 of Nov. 77 Play Meter. This will need to be corrected because I have a listing for Ding-A-Bell in a publication from 1974......

I do not know if the D handle raises the pins there, or is perhaps just for carrying it. I am not an expert on European table games, but thankfully there are a number of them out there. I am grateful to these site creators, but also keep in mind that these are general overviews and have a number of ...
