Re: Bonanza Star jigsaw puzzle

Really? :o How interesting. Now you have explained this, I can see I have the horizontal lever that would push the escapement to release a single token. However, what I don't seem to have are any slots cut into the perforated payout discs, the edges are a uniform sawtooth effect so as far as I can s...

Re: Bonanza Star jigsaw puzzle

Thanks - those pictures helped a great deal. They have even answered a question I didn't even quite ask. Yes BP, I had worked out and fitted the blue chute you highlighted, but I've just noticed from the photo my mystery chute is also part of my machine and fits on the left (somehow) circled in red ...

Re: Bonanza Star jigsaw puzzle

Aha! Clearly wrong, as in fact I have already identified the tube for the top box and installed same in position before taking the photo above. Also I have 4 tubes remaining although I only photographed 3 as one is broken (I'm so sneaky). I think 1 might fit just above the jackpot unit, one definite...

Re: Bonanza Star jigsaw puzzle

Oh, OK Mr Badpenny if you really think that a photo will enable you to tell me where these parts go...
Personally I doubt it, but here is the photo.
SAM_0326.JPG

So, where do you think these tubes fit in the case then?

Bet you didn't expect me to say that!

Bonanza Star jigsaw puzzle

I bought a Sega Bonanza Star some months ago, rather on trust as is came as an empty case and a cardboard box full of parts. However, rummaging through the box, I reckoned I had most of the bits I thought were needed so I set about rebuilding the machine. I've had a reasonable amount of success, in ...

Re: New Look Website

Heh, well it is obviously new website code - new colours, new layout etc, but I have to say that it all fits and displays correctly using IE9/Vista on my old desktop PC. I also have a notebook with Win7 that I will try later. OK so we lost the clock and a few other bits for now but if this platform ...

Re: New Look Website

Anybody admit to changing anything since my post yesterday, or have GCHQ finished installing the snoopware on all our machines now? Everything looks fine again now and the menu is back on the left. I never touched nuffin, honest.

Re: New Look Website

Nah! I'm using IE9 and the whole page looks slightly larger now ( such that it no longer fits across the screen and there is a small horizontal scroll) and some of the fields at the top now overlap. There is a menu at the very top (above the clock) starting about 1/3 of the way across the screen and...

Re: giving machines a miss

I'm quite happy for you to call me a brain-dead idiot if I can have your machines for nothing !!THUMBSX2!! Shall I rent a van...? I suspect a bit of a nark on when you wrote the post Glittering? Once it subsides I doubt you will be able to let them all go.... However, if you do decide to get rid, ho...

Re: South Shields Museum Seaside Exhibition

I went to the exhibition just after it opened, before the school holidays (so the little darlings hadn't had time to break anything). It is a really good display with a wide variety of different machines and all in a really good state of repair.

Of course nowadays Superglue would be the adhesive of choice.
Invisible, instant, permanent fix. What can possibly go wrong with that?

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

You appear to trade wives like you do slot machines. :HaHa: I assume they eventually got fed up with being stored 4-deep in the garage? Slot machines are more patient. I don't think the post and spring are anything to do with the hook lever that stops the fan. I was introduced to that feature some t...

Re: Rolatop Eagle

I think I recall seeing it for sale on eBay. The problem with electronic machines is when they go wrong you are often stuffed because the failure is inside a chip and therefore difficult to identify without diagnostic equipment. With mechanical machines you can see the spring or lever that isn't per...

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

I've never been out with a horse Badpenny. I've asked a few out, but they all said "neigh". !!ESCAPE!! Your photo was most useful, and I think we have identified the problem. See a similar shot of my machine below... 003.JPG I appear to be missing the screw or bolt that fits in the hole, t...

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

Hmmm... worrying. First you want photos of my wife/girlfriend/au pair, now you want a monkey? You aren't very fussy are you? I assume you want a lady monkey - nothing strange about you I'm sure. The picture may be a tad misleading as the post is shown pressed against the lever. When you cycl...

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

I asked them both and they declined, which only left the au pair, who was more game than I had expected. Pretty good photos I thought, and far too good to share with you, so I've only uploaded the photos of the slottie. 001.JPG 002.JPG As you can see, the ramp part of the lever bumps into the side o...

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

Aha! I managed to find some time yesterday to pull some of the main mech apart to clean it. I took all the levers off the side and a couple off the back, but stopped short of the payout levers and slides. I ran out of obvious screws to undo, so I chickened out before I had too many bits on the newsp...

Re: Mills Black Cherry Flavour

Well I already have that sixpence you spotted, so the machine didn't cost as much as I thought after all. I can also see a few overstretched springs waiting for me, so I know I'm on the right track. And I think by the time I get it back together I'm more likely to get a bus pass than a coach bolt......
