Golden Nugget
I see there is a repro Mills Golden Nugget on ebay for just under £800. The guy has also put a link to YouTube showing a video of it. He states " Ebay rules regarding sales of this type of device: This machine is exempt in compliance with rule 1: 1) Gaming machines, regardless of age, that cann...

We have lost the top expert in the country on German machines My sympathies to his family, I did not know Harold, but would have been very interested in meeting him and listening to his knowledge of these machines, very sad. It's an inevitable part of life and just reinforces what I have thought fo...

Re: Now heres a funny thing!
Could be interesting, there are old fashioned 'type set' printers out there who would be able to print from this, but as the plate is the background and outline of the fruits and numbers, this would only be in the background colour, usually black I think. The printed image could then be scanned into...

Interesting, hit the clown in his face with a penny and win a cig, if the penny hits him below the belt you have lost, and the clown is already holding his goolies!

Re: Getting so much done ..
So guys, over to you for identification and probable ages. I would guess early to mid 50s for the iss meter but a bit earlier for the personality, at around mid-late 30s with its hint of Art Deco style, but I could be completely wrong (I'm used to that at home). As for the Cupids Arrow - well, Cupi...

If you visit Clive's arcade on the end of Southport pier you can still play an original monkey race game (or you could 2 years ago when I was there).doofus wrote:That brings back great memories. I played that monkey race game many times at Blackpool in the 1950s. It's one I'd give my eye teeth to own.

Thanks for the info coppinpr, interesting to see how a practical invention such as the escalator can turn into a piece of decoration as in the Rol A Top - very nice machine.

I don't have any bandits but often seen many references to an 'escalator' but what does it actually do?
am I right in thinking that the early bandits such as poinsettas did not have them.

BMco also had a neat payout method on their automatic allwins. If you win, it pays out the coin that you just put in, so junk in, junk out. Lovely mechanism, quite different to the standard allwin mech and ingeniously designed.coppinpr wrote: hence if you put slugs in you got slugs out when you won
