Re: Unknown Win a TOFFEE allwin
Hey Tree, I've owned a few Wonders but didn't ever imagine it was related. The only thing I'll point out is the artwork on card is covered with thin acetate like Wonders did. Roof is flat. Trigger guard is standard allwin and very basic coin entry.

Unknown Win a TOFFEE allwin
Just about to sell this for a friend, but no idea who the maker might be? All the artwork is good quality hand painted on card, cabinet is high quality oak and looks prewar, but shows no signs of recycling. The owners father was an antique dealer and imported this from Britain in the 1970's or 80's....

Re: Australian Manufactured Coin Op Machines
Just been servicing the 1921 Perfume Fountain machine I purchased from Bob Klepner and later sold. The current owner had lost the Patent I gave him and while looking for that online yesterday I stumbled on to the most amazing interview with the original maker from 1975! The only other Aussie history...

Re: A really Sad Story
Hey Roger, PM passed on your Donkey story, pity you didn't "pull the trigger" yourself! !OMFG! I believe this Monkey advert was from the Police Gazette, here private labelled for Samuel Nafew, who did that a lot. Beuschel calls it the Educated Monkey in his Arcade 1 book. The Patent was ap...

Re: A really Sad Story
Hey Roger, the round pedestal was only used on the Elephant and Donkey. The first machine had a square pedestal, the lost Educated Monkey that threw dice. The Madame Zita, Puss in Boots and Educated Bulldog all used the bowed four legs. The five Elephants I worked on all had original iron pedestals,...

Re: A really Sad Story
Hey Roger, have never had your email. What's the big secret anyway? And was the story I told about Ken the one you were thinking about? I've heard hundreds of interesting stories about machines and collectors over the years but have to say I've forgotten more than I can remember anymore.

Re: A really Sad Story
Actually I think Gorski reproed less of the Madam Zita and Donkey, maybe closer to 30 of each. He told me but I'm vague now. Though he did say it was three runs of the Puss in Boots at 30 per run over 30 years! There are just under 20 originals of those known.

Re: A really Sad Story
Here are several videos I made years ago of the last couple of these machines I worked on. These videos and some others were lost for 6 years and when i stumbled onto them hidden in the wrong file I was shocked to see them again. At this point I was about 500+ hours into both. But later that was ove...

Re: A really Sad Story
Hey Roger, not a lot to go on... Ken had many machines with curved glass. He loved cigar vendors and quite a few of those would suit, plus other early vendors. I guess you are alluding to the Roovers Donkey he owned in the curved glass case, only two known examples. But the crazy story I know was ac...

Re: A really Sad Story
Ken certainly loved his machines as much as anybody ever could. Which is what I was trying to point out when his Elephant went SPROING, even with a house full of 80 machines he was beside himself that one was kaput. And the fact he was so willing to share them with others who had an interest. I intr...

Re: Mutoscope Stand!
Hey Scorpa, yes that's correct. Larry jumped the gun slightly thinking he was going with Amazon, or an affiliated printer, he said the final proof copy by them was under par. So he just got the new proof from Lulu and loves it. Though I've been told the overseas shipping is much higher than Amazon, ...

Re: A really Sad Story
Very sad to hear about Ken. I heard from several people that he'd been succumbing to alzheimer's or the like for the last 5 years. Met him for the first time 30 years ago and was able to visit his place a handful of times over the years and got to spend hours looking at his amazing collection and ta...

Re: British Mutoscope marquee art wanted
I imagine this was a generic card that had different names painted onto it along with a photo of that reels subject. After flattening the image and blowing up to scale I printed for re-drawing, and on close inspection everything is slightly wonky and out of line so most likely it is just a one off ...

Re: British Mutoscope marquee art wanted
This is another British Mutoscope card I've seen. Has the Crane label on the bottom so I guess was their own in house version. Would love to see a great photo or scan of this version too.

Re: British Mutoscope marquee art wanted
Certainly the same reel PM. That's an odd size marquee and frame I've never seen before. Great artwork but I imagine either specially made for this electric Muto or made up more recently?

British Mutoscope marquee art wanted
Maybe someone has this artwork? The reel is a UK produced version called Death Dive of a bicycle jump into a tiny pool, and so had a uniquely British card to go with it. I found this old arcade photograph with the artwork i need and while there is just enough there for me to work from, obviously a p...

Re: Allwin identification
The plane in the original machine photo sure looks dodgy to me - appears hand cut. The line of the body and tail-fin is a little off, and the small inset tip at the tail-fin base is very lopsided. And looks like the rhd bottom wing tip is cut flat instead of round. As JC already stated, would be an ...

Re: Genco King Fish
JC, if you look closely at the side view of the machine you'll notice the cabinet has a pronounced deeper front 1/3 of the cabinet, that no basic pinball has, which is needed to hold the payout mechanism And there is an added drawer below the front door, the drawers were usually pivoting in action t...
