Not length, but judging by that hole in the end with the screw-down nut, I'd say it's for diameter.

In the US, we call this a "two-fer," meaning "two for the price of one." Problem is as the above point out, TWO WHAT?? I think that French crane might be one. In this case, "two-fer" describes the quarts of ale this guy consumed just before he wrote the ad.

Re: BRYANS BUMPER - Found?
Goodness; I had no idea there was so little interest in the BUMPERS game. That's good news for me; won't be much competition in the bidding, once I find one.

Re: guess the machine??
Wait a minute...Let's examine the facts a little more closely here. 1. Jimmy Cowman has a bat cave. 2. Jimmy Cowman has some type of mysterious machine. 3. Jimmy Cowman hides behind a veil of rural charm. 4. No one has ever seen Jimmy Cowman and Batman together, at the same time, ever! 5. Are you co...

That's Badpenny's "Rocking Chair for Little People," two pence per minute. I saw it behind his shed earlier.

Having already preemptively declared this to be the "DECADE OF LOVE," I feel free to modify and now declare it to be the 'DECADE OF LOVE AND FRIVOLITY!" In such spirit, I am starting a new thread. And yes, the subject headliner is a shameless ploy to draw you in. Here's the premise: A...

Re: Help wanted identifying a couple of machines
Mr. Pennymachines, That was a very erudite explanation of the more subtle dynamics of collecting. I just want to go on record as saying that I am NOT one of the two American collectors Mr. PM referenced, only because my pockets are too shallow. On the bright side, what should I expect to pay for a B...

The dreadful news out of Haiti has me thinking about the ephemeral quality of the nature of life. One minute, you're standing in line at the water cooler; next, you're standing at the Pearly Gates. What really matters? Family and friends, of course, but good works matter too. And that leads to today...

Newsflash:  The electrons were not dry on the screen before I see that Hidden Treasure #2 has sold for $3,950 USD. As we used to say down South, "Well, shut my mouth!" My asking price for "THE PETERSON COLLECTION" has just increased to 2.5 million. Please, take a number an...

Sneaky? Americans? My goodness, we wrote the book! Remember, our national creed was proclaimed by that famous carnival man, PT Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute." Amen, PT. The case presented here is a little different. This seller is the same who sold a Bryans's "Hidden Tre...

Re: KOMET ALL SKILL - On Ebay you might be interested
I see where the aforementioned machine, formerly known as "Komet" (may have) sold for 1,250 GBP. Did anyone come up with a manufacturer? The location of the game was particularly attractive. You might take note, Badpenny, next time you start emptying your shed. Apparently, it helps if you ...

Arrgee, Very interesting, sophisticated analysis, my boy. Actually, the answer is much simpler than one would suspect. If you take the phrase in question and run it through the Enigma Machine, it actually spells: "I sure hope you're dumber than am I." John Peterson Your American Linguist
