Re: cailee
Certainly looks good, nice. He kept the original reel strips as the original Caille ones are quite desirable!
A nice machine but £4000 is not realistic in the current market IMO.

Re: Gawd ... not again!
My main area of interest is the 1930s/ Art Deco coin op but I also own two early eighties pinballs and they are appreciating quicker than my 1930s slots. Pinball has much broader appeal than bandits and wall machines and there are several vast collections in the UK as well as USA. I bought my last p...

Re: $1 tokens wanted for Jennings Prospector
Thanks Treefrog, I see you reside in Suffolk as well!
I have been offered 1000 NOS $1 Nevada Club tokens at 60 cents each, so cheaper than using real $1 coins which are currently going for $1,35 minimum.
Gonna pick them up in Vegas as going on holiday in November

Re: Buckley Digger
Hello Nigel, Just bought the same model (in very bad condition although mechanism seems original and complete) but I'm missing the metal top and side doors. If you have pics for me from the top and how it's constructed, I can help you out with the mechanism. Regards. I even went for a short break t...

Re: Buckley digger
Hi Pennymachines, Yes, it would have been a lot quicker and cheaper if I had bought the one in Nic Costa's auction at Christies a few years back! Although I did bid on it I just didn't have deep enough pockets to come up with the winning bid. Now it's the opposite, I have the money, but no time! I g...

Topic merged - site admin. Always wanted to restore one of these and have just started this one. Well, the plating, anyway. I acquired it from California. Cost an arm and a leg already. The bottom casting was so big I had to drive two hours to find a plating tank big enough. Aren't platers a fussy ...

$1 tokens wanted for Jennings Prospector
Can anyone help with this American beast! Has a massive 1000 coin jackpot ( note the special draw slung underneath the machine to catch the ton of coins) The window is empty as I only have enough $1 to fill the tube! Anyone got a load of dollar tokens they want to sell? I can get from the states but...

Re: Art deco slot machine found, seeking advice on value
Hi
You have a Mills Extraordinary slot machine circa 1933.
They look nice when restored , I love the Art Deco look myself.
As it stands it is worth around £200 but as much as three times that if nicely restored.
Hope this helps
Nigel

Re: Will it be a record?
Isn't this a Jennings Prospector? I can see what you are saying but I have a Prospector and all Prospectors are three reelers. Also the prospector was a console model only as it had to have a separate money draw slung underneath the wooden base of the machine to collect the huge 1000 coin Jackpot. ...

Well, here I sit on a Sunday morning lamenting the passing of a truly stunning Autumn. Winter has arrived in Melbourne and its disgusting outside but I have my supplies, machines around me and the light-up cat on my lap. Checking in as usual to find I'm all alone again and basically posting to myse...

Hi Gameswat Great report on Chicagoland, its a pity a few more of us pommes dont make it over there! Expensive flight as well as too high prices, I expect. Except you proved all the doubters wrong and got yourself some real bargains, especially the trade checks! Re Roger- he is spot on. The prices r...

Re: Big lot - Bandits and Bryans
If I remember correctly, he wanted £6k for the Buckaroo and said he was thinking over an offer of £13,500 on both dice machines. It is really nice stuff but he dosen't realise that at those prices he will only attract advanced US collectors and yet he wants £s folding so that pretty much rules them ...

I heard a quite ominous quote a few years ago that always sticks in my head.

Re: Big lot - Bandits and Bryans
I have seen all the American stuff and it is very nice. Bones was A1 and he also had a Bally Reliance (dice machine). The Bones had not sold two weeks ago despite being pulled off ebay?? The Rol a Top has been gold plated which is a shame IMO and detracts from the value. The Jennings consoles are ni...

I enjoy browsing this site and occasionally post! I worked in the States between 1989 - 1996 installing IGT and Ballys into shipboard Casinos and picked up the coin op collecting hobby there! I have a decent collection of all US made Bandits and Cranes from the 30s and 40s. Even though I am British,...

Guys I have one of these and painted right, they look absolutely beautiful. I spoke to the seller as he didn't know what model he had, this one is quite rare because it has the prosperity award, although it has the incorrect Mills gold award strips. I asked for pictures of the coin entry too as well...

Not sure of original colour but I am going to look at one over the next few weeks with a view to buying it. If I do buy it, I will but a pic up on this thread! It belongs to an old operator and he assures me it has "not been messed with" and does not know what it is worth just open to reas...

I have used them, they are great.
They will send you a catalog full of spares for bandits if you ask them.
They don't do any spares for English machines though and as this site is biased towards English machines it will probably only benefit the minority on here
