What size suitcase did you take to the Freemont?

BP
History might suggest that others may have tried suitcase trick before!

Re: Bad chrome

I have tried a few options with glass bead blasting but if the existing finish is chrome then glass bead blasting is unlikely to be strong enough at low pressure to remove the chrome or base layers of plating. Sand blasting at higher pressure will remove the plating but this leaves the casting with ...

Re: Mills 777 25c

Hi Stoxman 22, I purchased a Hi Top a while ago that was a Lucky Horseshoe conversion, It had the soleniod. microswitch, loom, jackpot glass and lightbox assembly but sadly the control unit had been removed from the rear bonnet amd I was unable to source one at the time. Here's a few pictures which ...

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?

Instone & Ashby Slough made the Lucky Devil, Money Matador etc. which were conversions for Light Ups and Hi Tops as a work around when the 10 coin max payout law was introduced. Later the company marketed the Buckingham and other models which I believe uses a Sega made cabinet. The glass has the...

Re: Apex machine reel strips

I haven't seen an Apex before and it looks an interesting machine. Are the holes drilled in the upper casting for illumination? It appears to have mains cable routed from the back of the bonnet which also lots of holes maybe for ventilation?

Re: Need Pearly King and Queen Jennings Governor marquee

I bought a Governor a year or two ago and left it with friend who got the original electrics working again. Last week he brought it back and I noticed there was a label inside the case with the serial number that matches the number stamped on the side and also on the back of the mech. The label is s...

Re: Sega Mad Money Windsor payout chute hopper

Here's a couple of images of the tube / header.
Not sure if these were originally one part and subsequently modified by operators if the coinage changed.
This one has a 1p tube and looks narrower diameter than the one you need.

Re: Sega Clover Bell & Blackjack

I think they vend gum, rather than pay out coins which happens on a Mini Sega etc.
The last coin played can be viewed in a window at the side of the case before it drops into the cashbox.

Re: Reel Mech Query

Treefrog is correct. My Mills Hi Top pays 10 coins for 777 anywhere in the window. This is triggered from a payout finger rather than the Gold Award Trip mounted on the Anti Reverse Lever.

Re: Shefras Escalator problems

I think your escalator is actually a late Sega version rather than a Shefras. I had one of these in a Sega Light Up.
Here is a thread below which hopefully will be of use to confirm the model of escalator.

Here's a photo I have to hand. I think it mounts from the reel surround casting rather than the escalator but will check again when I can access the machine.

Re: History of Joe Fletcher's Birmingham amusement arcade

One of my favourite arcades in the 1980s and '90s and visited Lickey Hills most weekends during the summer months.
I can remember the last one arm bandits in the venue were electronic by that time - a couple of Universal OXOs.

Re: Sega Mad Money Restoration

Hi, I have had a few Shefras escalators and they do have multiple slots. I think these escalators can be configured in different ways, but usually the last coin played is visible pushing the previous one down the channel. I have found the multiple slots also help with clearing bent or stuck coins fr...

Re: Electroplating (chrome, nickel etc.)

I have had a few pieces chrome powder coated and the results can be very good but the surface of the casting / metal needs to be very smooth before powder coating to achieve the best effect from the finish. If there is any pitting or a rough surface is left from blasting then it just looks like the ...
