Re: Shortages having a knock on effect for us?
I still use Allan James (Amicus) - always reasonable, never charged more than £70, and totally reliable with timing. Used Allan 4 times in last 12 months so presume he is still operating? tbh Shipley are a joke

Re: Sega Progressive Star coin jam
Thanks for info grains - there is no reference to a meter on the machine and there are no stars on the reels so I guess this one was converted from the original and new reel strips (they are quite "new" looking) and new blanking plate fitted. So I will leave that part as is and concentrate...

Re: Sega Progressive Star coin jam
Thanks for your advice coppinpr, and pointer to BP's post - I'll have a good look at the escalator over the next few days - I assume dismantling it is fairly starightforward (ref spring, you are of course right - I should've gone to specsavers !LOOK! ) Hi grains - simple answer is no - nothing behin...

Re: Allwin Elevenses ball hitting glass
Hi, jed8. Is the glass fairly loose? It often is, and it may be that putting small wedges (like the little plastic door stoppers, 1 or 2mm or so thick) at the back of the glass would push it far enough forward to clear the rails. If the stoppers are stuck to the wooden frame and not the glass it wou...

Sega Progressive Star coin jam
Topic merged - Site Admin. Hi, all. I recently acquired a Sega Progressive Star as pic. All seems to run well (apart from needing a good clean inside) other than a small problem with the sixpences. First handle pull is fine but on second or third coin the handle locks and the coins jam. Seems to be...

Re: EH / Collector Connector sales
Just to add to this topic I did make quite a few "absentee" bids when the Elephant House was operating and always bid the highest I was prepared to pay. In all but one of those bids, if I won the item it was at a lower amount than my ceiling so that, to me, was a fair battle just as if I h...

Re: Polo allwin
Thought I'd share this with you to show you don't need to spend a fortune on fancy software if all you have available is Microsoft Paint which is of course free. I recently bought a sad looking, non-working, 5 Fruit Flavours Polo Allwin (see bottom pic) which was missing a top flash and the main fla...

Re: Future slot machine auctions poll
I would probably have 2 decent Allwins to sell and be aiming to bid on a couple of items, either Allwin or Bandit. My problem though when the Coventry auctions were held was that for family reasons I would never have been able to get the machines to the site early enough on the day of the auction. W...

Re: Polo allwin
I have acquired a Fruit Polo Allwin which you will see needs a little tlc  I took a gamble on this one at auction as it was locked with no key and I couldn't view it but then that's part of the fun of auctions |/XX\| Happily, having removed the back panel to gain access, all is there inside an...

Re: Aristocrat Bingo Clickety Click
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb7Gttqhv_g Thanks for your help again treefrog - have worked through the list and learned a lot about how these creatures work in the process  The reels run reasonably fast and smooth so even though a cycle doesn't last as long as it might, I'm happy with this ...

Re: Aristocrat Bingo Clickety Click
Thanks again for your patience treefrog! With the handle cocked ready to release the timing bar I can still manually move the bar back about another half inch which would, as you say, allow the reels to spin longer before the stops are activated. I see from various posts about dog and anvil, if that...

Re: Aristocrat Bingo Clickety Click
Thanks treefrog - reels suitably extracted and all looks well. I have attempted to attach a short video of the stops - they seem to activate fine but too quickly so that the whole spin cycle only takes about 3 seconds. The reels spin freely, it's just that the bar that releases the stops does so ver...

Re: Aristocrat Bingo Clickety Click
Thanks for your help, Treefrog. Just to check, does that mean the screw and circlip (blue arrows) the opposite end need loosening/removing respectively? I ask as I tend to have not a lot of luck with circlips that tend to spring off into a dark corner of my garage

Re: Aristocrat Bingo Clickety Click
Having got a bit bored with being locked away I decided to take a punt on a Bandit (always previously had Allwins) and saw an Aristocrat which was one of the Bandits you guys kindly recommended as a good starter machine. Anyway it seems fine and in good overall condition but as seems to be common, t...

Re: Oliver whales wood?
Probably not going to be of help here but attached was an Easy 9 I got from Elephant House a few years back and as far as I know the cash door was the original. Pic attached in case cabinet wood is same as yours and anyone can identify wood used for the cash door!
