Re: Nicholson “Operating Theatre” & Canova “Problem”
Quite a few later additions made to this Nicholson model, but then there were a few characters of the day making up missing parts in working models thinking nobody would notice, and doing so without much creative skill,
and even passing off their own complete creations.

Extremely talented. I expect he is inundated with silly people trying to buy them for peanuts when they are unique pieces of high end art.
The worry I would have from Daniel's point of view in exposing so much of the detail of the mechanism on video, and then others copying (such as the Chinese)

You're talking about Joe Pettitt's 'Drunkard's Nightmare' which is at Battlesbridge
which I agree with you this time JC, it is frankly awful.

Re: Working model birdwatchers
Well everyone has an opinion BP. My "varied spectrum of expertise and opinion" was that it is recently made, not '1980's', and not '1990-2000 mark', and all of the makers info has been in plain sight on the Colcon site all the time. and that I think JC, it's about as far away from the qual...

I have just seen another Samson 'cutting woman in half illusion' on my travels at Marvins Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Michigan so they did make more, and experimented with the Peppers Ghost illusion quite a lot. Similarly Darren's 'Haunted House' model, and Rye's 'Smokey Joe' are other examples. ...

Re: Milestones Arcade
Thankfully nowadays Old Penny Arcades in high footfall family destination locations still appear to be as popular as they ever were for the '50s and '60s generations whilst swept along on a wave of nostalgia. I see no reason why this won't continue provided that a feeling of good value for money is ...

Re: Saleroom roundups
Ha, I thought the female figure's head was too small and out of proportion, but then wondered if it was the camera angle. I did think the video of the 'Snow White and Dwarfs' contributed to its low selling price, but a cabinet refurb, slowing the motor down, and changing them over to Pelham puppets ...
