You probably wouldn't notice it if it was high enough on the wall, and depending on your height but I like to try and put faults right if it is possible, after all we are caretakers for these machines.

I think it will straighten out ok as well treefrog, I could get hold of the correct hammers and striking back plates and do a half decent job on it, it's just the sides which concern me, so better to take to a specialist on this occasion.

Can't seem to fathom how the coin mech works. Not pulling all the way out at the moment. I thought the three holes at the front were for coins at first, but these are not big enough to sit a half penny, so must be for putting your fingers in to push up the gum to release it?

Just got back from the locksmiths who managed to get her open, just means now the machine can be mounted on a wall again, the screws holding the gum drawer are seized solid though, wd 40 time I think, I have enclosed some close up pics of the front decals as well.

Wow, never thought I would see another machine, and good to see how it would have looked when it was new, and what the bottom part of the machine looks like that is missing on mine. Made my day that has.

I recently acquired this vintage (possibly around the 1930s), Oh Boy gum vending machine. Can't find another picture of one. I asked the previous owner about the history of the machine. She had bought it in 1979 from an antiques shop in Southampton. The owner of the shop knew nothing of its history....

That is very good information you have given me, and I guess being in the industry you can't afford to be spending hours trying to fix and maintain these machines, I'm looking at where the fuse is on my machine, with all connectors pulled out and it looks as though it hasn't had the chance to connec...

I am trying to fix my Jamiesons Skill Poker machine. I am still at novice level, I have bought the multi meter and the cleaning chemical to clean the PCB. Sorry admin, I couldn't help myself. My explanation is that you go for a ride on your bike to clear your head, and when you get back you realise why your penny machine isn't working and you can then fix it.
